Dipak treated us very well all along the way and was always there to serve us. When I developed serious altitude sickness on the 7th day of the trek, he and one porter returned to Namche Bazaar with my son and me. On this very difficult 2-day hike back to Namche, he was constantly at my side, helping me down steep places, giving me tea and water, and patiently waiting for me when I could take only 50 or so steps at a time going uphill without resting. In Namche he helped my son arrange a helicopter evacuation to Kathmandu and organized local Sherpas to carry me on a stretcher up a steep trail to the helicopter pad. I truly believe that he saved my life and I will be eternally grateful to him. Tom Henderson

I had the most epic, trip of a lifetime trekking to Everest Base Camp with Ace the Himalaya. Our group had an outstanding group of guides and porters, but the one that really stands out in my mind is Rabi Thapa. When it was time to get going, he'd call out "excuse me, Jam Jam!" and we absolutely loved it! He always made sure we had everything we needed while on trail as well as at the guest houses. I was feeling less than stellar the day we reached Base Camp and the two days following, and Rabi was right there checking on me. Even after our trek was over, our group had the honor of meeting his wife and two children. They were the most gracious hosts and I will never forget their kindness and company! It was definitely a highlight of my trip!

Ace The Himalaya made our 14 day Everest Base Camp Trek an epic and beautiful adventure. Sure, taking on the Himalayas without a guide is a possibility but from start to finish Ace made the entire process seamless and incredibly enjoyable. The services included airport pickup and drop-off, hotel arrangements in Kathmandu, extra bag storage and all tea houses booked along the way. The Ace website provides detailed information on the trek as well as the gear required to make it all happen. A travel company is only as good as its people, and this is where Ace truly excels. Our group knew how challenging a trip like this would be, but we had no idea how we would luck out with our top-tier guide, Laxmi. She was super knowledgeable, funny and despite her small frame, a strong and capable trekker. We honestly couldn't imagine having such an incredible time without her. Within a few days she became more than a guide and more like a bonus member of our trekking crew, and eventually, like a member of our family. Laxmi was our liaison for our interactions with the locals as well as dealing with ordering our food for each and every meal. She went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and well fed, and even took the time to play cards with us during the down time before going to sleep. She taught us Nepalese phrases, quoted exact heights and names of the mountains we encountered and never complained about our humor or repetitive questions. Laxmi was truly a gem. The porters were also excellent. These small-framed young men were beasts on the trail. Carrying two bags each, they would arrive at our destination before us and have our bags ready in our rooms. They were efficient, trustworthy and had wonderful energy. There are many trekking companies out there, but I can say with authority that Ace will not disappoint. Don't let the Thamel back alley office fool you - Prem and his team are in the upper echelon of trekking companies in Nepal. Highly recommended.

Ace the Himalaya was very accommodating. They had all of the details (travel, lodging, must-see sights) figured out for us. They offered transportation through the whole trip (which was must appreciated especially in Kathmandu!). We enjoyed the very educational professionally guided tour of Kathmandu before our trek began. It was a excellent idea to build in the time to recover from our long flight but not waste the day. Once we were on the trek, Ace the Himalaya's expert guide, Sonam took great care of us! It was clear Sonam had the respect from all the other guides we came across and his experience was clear. Sonam made sure we hydrated and prevented altitude sickness. He made sure we ate properly and told us what we needed to avoid. He educated us on how to breathe and pace ourselves on the climbs. He motivated us when we needed it. Additionally, Sonam handled all the financial transactions and translated for us throughout the trek. He provide interesting cultural insight. Overall we very much enjoyed our trip to Nepal and really want to get back. Maybe we'll use Ace the Himalaya for the Annapurna circuit!

First class service from Ace. Everything was well organised and ran smoothly. Our guide Dipak Dahal did a wonderful job of looking after a fairly large and somewhat disparate group. We always knew what the next section would involve and what we needed. When one of our group succumbed to altitude sickness and needed helicopter evacuation, it was handled smoothly and without fuss. Head office support was great, every query promptly answered and requests responded to. Thoroughly recommend Ace the Himalaya for treks, you will be safe and well looked after.

A trek to Everest Base camp is not without risks so you mitigate that by choosing a reliable tour operator, but it is only as good as the people that work in the company. We were very pleased with the knowledge, leadership and care afforded us by our guide, Madan Kandel. Throughout the 14 days trek, Madan showed great care, and concern over his charge. When our return flight from Lukla on 3rd May was cancelled due to inclement weather, Madan worked tirelessly throughout the day to get some of us on a helicopter flight to Kathmandu.

I had the honor and pleasure to join and finish the Royal Penguin trail ultra with Ace and Rajan Rokaha. Having missed our flight to Lukla due to bad weather, Rajan hopped into a heli with me and when the heli had to make an emergency landing in a thunder storm south of Lukla, Rajan didn't hesitate to follow me through ghastly weather in a thundering place to Namche. Next day he held me pursue an alternative route to Hillary peak, from an angle he hadn't tried before. At race day he was there at 3am to bring me to the start and at 9pm at the finish line. The next day he followed me in a full blown non stop sprint from Namche back to Lukla and helped me get on the last cargo plane for the day back to Kathmandu. Rajan must have repeatedly thought he was going to die, but his local expertise and network were crucial in making my trip a success. A real trooper that you want to have on your team.

We completed the 14 day EBC tour in April/May 2018. There were four of us (4 Australian men, all around 50 years old) in the experience is one that we will cheish. We are all reasonably fit, and prepared well for the trek. The trek met our expectations in terms of the level of challenge and we all reached both EBC and Kala Patter. We all had some altitude sickness (headache, loss of appetite etc), however not enough to stop us walking any of the days. My biggest concern before we left was the guides English skills as we have had issues with previous travels where “speaking English” can mean many different things. I must say that within 30 seconds of speaking to our guide, I realized that this was not going to be a problem for our trek. His English skills were first class and he had a degree (History I think) from an English speaking university. Most of the guides that we met with also had good English skills. I can’t add any more in relation to the fantastic scenery and the pleasantness of the local Nepalese to what others have already said. My advice to others is that you need to do your research for these trips and to make sure that you are physically (and more importantly mentally) prepared for the trek. Most parts of the trip were as expected for us, although I must comment that the Tea-house bedrooms were colder that I had expected once you get up to the higher altitudes. Our Guide’s name for the tour was Nemish from Ace the Himalaya. Nemish made the trip something special for us and made it much more that a trek, but a cultural, historical and geographical educational experience. Ace, please thank Nemihs for us – you have a fantastic employee there given his patience, demeanor, and knowledge of the region, and one that will hold a special place in our hearts.

The people were great and the trek an adventure. My only suggestion would be to focus more of a overview on local history and culture.
