How strenuous is the trekking as we are 68yr male and 65yr female? We are is good shape but may have some difficulty keeping up to a younger group if the trekking level high.

About this trip trekking in Sapa not so much. And the tour guide will take you to visit Sapa is smooth and follow beside you on the tour and if you want less trekking we will change stay Homestay in Sapa instead by hotel and you have more time to relax.

Does Overnight train from Hanoi to Lao Cai have sleepers where you can lie down to sleep?

The train ticket from Hanoi to Lao Bai is soft sleeper train 4 peoples/cabin. If your group is 2 people, you will share with 2 other persons and if you don't want to share you can pay more for private cabin. The cabin is for lying down to sleep.

I'm wondering what happens to our small suitcases when doing the trek and home stay in Sapa? Also, will we need warm clothes in June?

When you arrive in Sapa at 12:30 to 12:45 you will have a lunch in the hotel and then check in the room so the bag you can leave at the hotel, and a small bag bring on your shoulder. If you choose stay in home stay, you will leave some luggage at the hotel where you have a lunch and then bring some clothers for one night in home stay next day you come back to the hotel to take the luggage back to Hanoi. The weather is summer on June, it's sunny but it's cool in Sapa.

During early january, which date have more people with ages around 20-30? I might want to join that group.

Our group mix many peoples on each tour. You will meet many peoples on the world but not the same your age because we receive booking from many travel agencies.
