Such a great trip. A very relaxing start with 2 days meandering down the Mekong river on a lovely riverboat. Great way to have time to get to know your fellow travellers. I fell in love with Luang Prabang and really appreciated some free time there to explore on my own. Accommodation was first class (Pakbeng was a bit basic, but there's not much there to choose from so fair enough) and the pace was perfect. Not too rushed and only had to unpack a couple of times.

Such a beautiful, quiet country that I definitely would have missed the best parts of had I not booked this trip. Travelling down the Mekong by private boat was such a peaceful and beautiful experience, our guide was knowledgeable and always had amazing recommendations for restaurants and local dishes to try.
