On the Japan 13 day tour do the buses have toilets on them and are the hostels private rooms and bathrooms or do you share rooms and bathrooms.

We mainly travel by train throughout Japan. The longest journey without toilet access would usually be around 1.5 to 2 hours. On the larger trains there are toilets available on board. Accommodation is in shared hostel style rooms with shared bathroom facilities. If you would prefer your own private room, that can sometimes be arranged. We would just need to check availability for your dates.

We love the itinerary and it looks fantastic overall. We were wondering if it would be possible to stay in hotels instead of hostels, with each couple having their own private room. Additionally, do you offer this itinerary as a private tour for a group of six people?

Our Japan Adventure 13 day includes the absolute best of Japan, plus some off the beaten path experiences, amazing accommodation, an instant group of friends and an awesome group leader to take care of everything. Hang out with red faced snow monkeys, wield a samurai sword, stay overnight in a 1000 year old buddhist temple with local monks are just some of the many highlights! It wouldn't be possible to run a private group for 6 people, but we certainly look into the possibility of 3 private rooms for you on one of our Group departures. The only time of year where private rooms can never be organised is during Cherry Blossom season (March/April) due to availability during peak season. The private rooms would be booked at the same accommodation as the rest of the group are staying. It wouldn't be possible to have you staying at different hotels due to the effect that would have on logistics and the group dynamic, sorry about that! There is one location where it isn't possible to have a private room, Hakone, but we can book you into private rooms at all other accommodations (subject to availability). That said, we strongly recommend not having a private room for the 2 nights in Nagano and the 1 night in Koyasan as the traditional Ryokan and Buddhist temple shared is very much part of the experience!

Can this be guided in Spanish?

What would happen if I can't get my visa?

You will need to organise your visa yourself and in advance. Depending on your nationality you may have different requirements for the application. We aren't experts in visa, so if you have any concerns about your eligibility for a visa, we'd recommend you organise this and then you can book onto our tour with confidence.

Can an age range exception be made? I am in my 70s and physically fit for the tour.

We set an age range to make sure the style, pace, and overall vibe of our group tours stays consistent for everyone. Our trips are designed specifically for travellers aged 18–40s, which is why we have a maximum age limit of 49. This isn't based on attitude, fitness or ability. It's simply about maintaining the trip style and group dynamic that our travellers come expecting.

With regards to your visa, you will need to organise this yourself and in advance, it's pretty easy to do. Depending on your nationality you may have different requirements for the application. The itinerary was so well thought-out, loads of engaging activities and cultural experiences, but with the perfect amount of free time to explore at your own pace too. Everything felt smooth, organised, and you could tell real care had gone into the planning. A massive shout out has to go to our tour leader, Lachlan Fleming (Lachie). He was hands down the best tour guide I’ve ever had. Lachie was incredibly knowledgeable not just about the itinerary, but about Japanese culture in general and he always took the time to answer questions properly and thoughtfully. Nothing ever felt rushed or brushed off. What really made the trip, though, was Lachie’s energy and how he brought the group together. He was so friendly, engaging, and genuinely inclusive. He made sure everyone felt involved, comfortable, and part of the experience from day one. By the end of the 13 days we’d become a seriously close group, and that’s largely down to the way Lachie created such a great vibe and looked out for everyone. I just finished a 13-day Japan trip. I feel it was worth every cent, the hours of my time spent booking it, and getting travel insurance. Reading the emails on what to bring was worth it. If I had tried to organize all the activities we did, it would have taken me days to plan. Some of the activities we did I would not normally do, but it's good to try new things, and overall it was a heap of fun. My group leader was Lachlan Fleming. I could not fault him; he was very professional and approachable and did an awesome job managing the large group we were in. He had good energy. This has been my third tour, but Lachlan has been my favorite group leader so far.Show more

Visa
- Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before April 21st, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after April 21st, 2026, a minimum payment of 25% is required to confirm your booking with INTRO Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 35 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and INTRO Travel will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "INTRO Travel" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
Cancellation Policy
- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
- TourRadar is an authorized Agent of INTRO Travel. Please familiarize yourself with the INTRO Travel payment, cancellation and refund conditions.
