    4.0 - Good

Tour certainly provided in-depth awareness of the Iranian culture; the political situation of past and present; and general knowledge of everyday life for an Iranian. Tour leader had a wealth of knowledge - historical, events/places we visited, which was informative and beneficial. On more than one occasion she went out of her way for others. Transportation ~ first van was small with limited room, but the other transport was fine. Hotels were good with variety.

    4.0 - Good

Iran is a great place to visit. The people are warm and very friendly. The historic places are must see and it has magical nature you can't visit in any other place. It has Green forests and beaches in north, Magical deserts in the middle and east, Mountains and waterfalls in west and Tropical weather and beaches in south. Variety of historical places is great too. Sites from ancient Persia (Persepolis) to Mosques with beautiful architecture from Islamic era (especially in Isfahan)...

Pretty awful. Abysmal hotel in Tehran, saw almost nothing in Tehran. Airport pick-up was wildly overpriced; plus guy could't speak English. Guide was very good, other travelers great, but Intrepid uses the travel restrictions for US and Brits against travelers.

Great trip, good balance between cities, towns, villages, nature and historical sights. The leader was amazing, very knowledgeable and was great to get along with. Get ready to have your pre-conceptions shattered. Iran is different to anything you might have expected. Highly recommended.

An excellent introduction to a complex and rewarding country. Nadia Baadie, our guide, was terrific. The transport was comfortable and the travel times never too long. A good range of accommodation always well-located, and what seemed like the best eating options around. Iranians are the friendliest people I've encountered.

The tour that sparked my love for Iran and its people! I took this tour in March-April 2010, and I cannot speak highly enough of Reza, our wonderful guide: he was perfectly attuned to the needs of the group, has a deep knowledge of the history of his country, he was always courteous, good-humoured, organised, friendly and displayed excellent leadership skills (he has expertly trained two other Intrepid Iran tour leaders, Yasna and Mostafa, who are also very fine guides). Highlights of the itinerary itself include: participating in an impromptu interview for a TV segment by the local Historical Society while climbing a hill in the village of Eghlid, whilst being eagerly listened to by the villagers; staying in a remote fortified caravanserai along the ancient Silk Route with stunning mountain views from the rooftop walls and meeting countless hospitable Iranians in the street and in their homes, who were always curious/keen to speak to us and hear our impressions of Iran and were extremely welcoming to foreigners. It was an absolute delight to be introduced to Iran in such a manner: this tour shattered my previous fears/misconceptions about Iran garnered from the international media, to instead reveal a country rich in a colourful history and refined culture, with dramatic varied landscapes, beautifully preserved architecture and most of all, the kindest people you could ever meet!

Questions & Answers

Here we have collected and answered the most frequently asked questions about this tour.

    • I'm a solo traveller, is there a single supplement?

Solo travellers do not have to pay a single supplement as this is a group trip designed for shared accommodation. You will be paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with travellers of the same sex. If you would prefer a little more privacy, a single supplement can be paid which will guarantee you your own private room for the duration of the tour, excluding the following days:

      Day 4: Village homestay
      Day 6 - Caravanserai

Please contact our Travel Experts to arrange this.

    • What is the age range?

The minimum age range for this tour is 15, however Intrepid does not have any upper age restrictions so as long as you are up to it they would love to have you on tour!

    • Can you help us with our visas if needed?

Unfortunately we are unable to give visa advice due to the vast number of nationalities which our customers represent. Some nationalities can travel freely over borders, where others require advance permission to enter. There are also changes in requirements from time to time. We recommend checking your local embassy or consulate's website for the latest up to date information.

    • Leslie3rd September 2018
It is too bad there is no 6 or 8 star rating available. 5 isn't really good enough for TourRadar. This enterprise surpasses even the most stringent, high-bar criteria for excellence of customer service. These people are consistently, constantly, on top of your tour itinerary, where you are are in the process, your current status and your situation, they answer the phone on the 2nd or 3rd ring, I'M NOT KIDDING, nd when they pick up they already know who you are, what your tour and status is, and they instantly produce precise answers and solutions to your questions or problems in a matter of seconds. I don't know who the competition is for this outfit but my advice to them is, give up. Go find another line of business. You will never catch up with the platinum customer service these people provide.
