Thank you for such a wonderful review Didem! It is amazing to hear how much you enjoyed the mix of culture, food, and meaningful experiences throughout Japan. Moments like meeting a monk, speaking with a kendo sensei, and taking part in a matcha ceremony are exactly what make this journey so special. Thank you so much for your heartfelt review Tiffany! It means a lot to hear that the tour felt like traveling with a little family and that each day showed you a new side of Japan. We’re thrilled the mix of culture, nature, city life, and hidden gems made the experience so memorable. Daan will be over the moon to hear your kind words, his passion, energy, and genuine connection with guests are exactly what make moments on tour feel so special. The group becoming such close friends by the end is exactly the vibe we want for our tours. If your adventures ever bring you back our way, we’d love to welcome you again!

    Asked on February 2nd, 2026

Why does the 10 day Japan trip have a max age of 59?

    Age Range
    • One Life AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2026

Due to the nature of the activity levels on this tour, especially in destinations like Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka where we can cover upwards of 20,000 steps a day. Additionally, on travel days, we'll be carrying our own luggage through metro stations.

Taking this into account and and marjority of our guests being 20-35 we decided to cap the tour age at 59.

  • J

    Jackie

    Asked on January 30th, 2026

Is it possible to add a pre-tour accommodation in the same hotel where the tour begins? A 69 year old traveler would like to confirm if he would be eligible to join the tour that accommodates participants up to 59 years old.

    Age Range
    • One Life AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2026

We have to follow our guidelines as per our tour requirements, meaning we are unable to accommodate guests who are over the age of 59.

    Asked on January 30th, 2026

What is a pot style hotel or accommodation? Is it a is it considered a hostel or a hotel are the pods private with private bathrooms?

    Accommodation
    • One Life AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

It is classed as a hostel and the name of this accommodation is Gion Ryokan Hostel. Each person has their own pod with privacy curtain - restroom facilities are shared but there are individual showers and toilets that are kept extremely clean.

    Tour Details

We do have policies around minimum age requirements (18) and a minimum group size of 8 people. If you do qualify then we can indeed look more into customising your tour.

  • D

    Debbie

    Asked on January 14th, 2026

Which airport in Tokyo should we use? I'm flying from Amsterdam to Tokyo. How can I find the group? I'm deaf and am bringing a sign language interpreter. Is an interpreter allowed during the tour?

    Flights / Transfers
    Travel Support
    • One Life AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

You can fly into either airport - Haneda or Narita Airport. When you arrive you will need to make arrangements to get to the starting hotel, but we will send instructions in your Welcome Email that will be sent 1 month prior to the start of the tour

To meet the group you can meet them at the hotel and we will add you into a tour WhatsApp group 3-5 days before the start of the tour so you can meet everyone and communicate your arrival.

Yes you can bring an interpreter, however, they will also need to book a spot on this tour. We will look to room you together throughout the tour where possible, if your interpreter is the same gender this will be easier to facilitate.

      TravelerWritten January 2026

The program doesn't specify which hotel. Will I still receive hotel information?

    • One Life AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

The first hotel will be Sakura Hotel Nippori and our Welcome Email will also include instructions on how to get to this location from each airport.

If you check here - https://www.tourradar.com/t/111527 - it will list all the accommodation on each day by day breakdown (attached is screenshot from the page to show)

    Asked on January 3rd, 2026

Is there an option for single accommodation?

    Accommodation
    Single supplement
    • One Life AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

We don't offer Single room upgrades in Japan, one reason is the cost of standard hotel rooms in Japan not being budget friendly and would make the tour significantly more money. Furthermore, we prefer to include some really cool unique accommodation experiences, i.e the temple stays and pods, rather than standard single hotel rooms, so you can make your time in Japan as memorable as possible, feeling like you've really immersed yourself into the culture and lifestyle of the locals.

Let me break it down a little bit for you

      • Twin/double rooms: You'll be paired with your companion
      • Multi-share rooms: These will be shared with fellow travelers at the temple, with a variety of room sizes that can fit 2, 5, or 9 people.
      • Pod-style dormitory (Days 6-8): You'll enjoy a private pod-style bed in room of 12.

For any rooms that require sharing, you will be be staying with someone from the same gender.

    Asked on December 9th, 2025

Can you please advise if the single supplement is available?

    Single supplement
    • One Life AdventuresOperatorWritten December 2025

We do not offer Single Supplement for this tour so that we can still make this tour affordable. As part of the accommodation on this tour you will have - Twin Rooms, Pod Style beds, Multishare temple stay. We provide authentic and interesting room types during this amazing tour! If you are looking for a trip to East Asia with a Single Supplement, I would suggest our South Korea tours. Please note that the Single Upgrade is subject to availability. Also Day 5 of the tour will be a multishare temple stay - so 1 night of the tour will not be private.

    • One Life AdventuresOperatorWritten December 2025

Requesting clean and spacious hotels 3-4 star for elderly travelers (75yrs old) for 50th wedding anniversary trip to Japan.

    • One Life AdventuresOperatorWritten December 2025

Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to offer a custom tour for 2 people, we would need a minimum of 7 people to create a custom tour. Additionally, our Classic Japan tours have an age limit of 18-59 so we wouldn't be able to have them join our Classic Tour.
