Where to start... What an epic adventure.. I can not recommend this trip enough... Jared is a true Canadian dude, showing you the best of the best throughout this journey. He will look after you to no end, making sure you experience the true Canada that even most Canadians can only dream about visiting....!!  From breath taking views, both coastal and inland, to very unique villages that will imprint life long memories.. You will get opportunities to do some very fun activities, such as white water rafting the Ottawa river and canyoning in the amazing gaspésies, to name but a few..!!   Some great rewarding hikes to beautiful views; Cabot trail and the bay of fundy to view the sea bed at low tide, which is an amazing spectacle... Lay under the stars at night in Algonquin park and see them as you never have before. Float and swim in beautiful lakes or rivers that never end.. You will get the chance to eat some great poutine in different spots, where it only gets better and better as you journey on..!! There is so much good food to be enjoyed, fresh Lobster, Muscles and Oysters.. CHEESE!!! Whales, Moose, Deer and many other wildlife can be seen along the route.. The chipmunks will provide great entertainment... Don't think about it, just book it, you will not regret this trip...  The only sad part is saying goodbye at the end after strangers have become friends and enjoyed an amazing amount of fun.. This is a journey of epic adventure... Do it!!

This was an unforgettable experience and amazing adventure that I would recommend to everyone coming over and wanting to see more of Canada. There is coastal views for days, stargazing, hikes, wildlife (cracking sea pigeons around I heard...), sand dunes, city stops not to mention the activities like rafting, canyoning, climbing, whale watching and all the incredible food (seafood to die for - try and meet Captain Mark, moose, cheese, potatoes and be sure to have a spot of Poutine with Jared... I heard he likes it!) We even managed to squeeze in plenty of partying along the way. Don't expect all your standard hostels. Just wait until you get to Tadoussac and Sea Shack, Gaspesie (my fave spots). You will do a bit of camping, maybe even sleep in some yurts, be close to death with a hangover but you will meet the most incredible people from all walks of life with cracking stories to tell. Maybe brush up on your french though for round some of the campfires... Aside from the trip itself, Jared is just an all round legend - he takes you to the places HE loves which shows from his enthusiasm meaning you get the true Canadian experience. You won't be doing any cliched rubbish as he takes you to places that are off the beaten track to places that most Canadians are still dreaming of getting to! Thanks to the gang for the experiences, memories and pals made. To everyone else, book up, you won't regret it.

My parntner and I were on study exchange from the UK (at U of T) and really wanted to get to know at least a few parts of the country as the locals do, and try lots of different activities, and hang out with other travellers with a similar outlook, and all without breaking the bank. The package offered by Out Here was just what we were looking for. Our guide was superb, really knew every nook and cranny on the route, and was generally prepared to accommodate if there was something we wanted to see or do that wasn't on the day's agenda. But that wasn't much, as the trip was really packed with great activities. Our favourite part was seeing the awesome wildlife - actual Moose on the Cabot trail! And the cute deers in the Laurentians! But the best was definitely the whales we saw on the kayaking trip out of Tadoussac - a real once-in-a-lifetime experience. We also enjoyed the city and smaller town stops - particularly old Quebec City and Charlottetown - where our guide introduced us to some great hangouts with local live music and great food and BEER! Not sure about the poutine though! Chips in gravy - with cheese? And the stay at Sea Shack at Gaspesie was awesome - a great party with a live band followed by a chance to camp on the beach under the stars. I don't if this is how Canadians always roll on their summer holiday, but it's definitely how we'll remember our Canadian experience. We'll definitely hook up with these guys when we make it back to Canada.

Travelling around Eastern Canada with a great bunch of people, what more do you want? Led by Chief Adventurer Jared, this trip encompasses the very best of Canada. Whether you are interested in scenery, hiking, wildlife, adventurous sports or just enjoying the local food and drink and immersing yourself in local culture, there is something for everyone on this trip. Jared's knowledge ensures you do the best hikes, see the best views and take part in the best activities. You can try lobster, oysters, poutine or any other local delicacy that takes your fancy, and it is definitely encouraged to make the most of your trip! This trip is a fine mix of cities and experiencing the Canadian outdoors. The scenery is incredible. The national Parks of Cap Breton and Algonquin are a sight to behold, whilst The Cabot Trail, Tadoussac and Gaspesie definitely hold their own. The trip is designed with flexibility in mind, activities are not compulsory (although highly recommended) whilst in cities there is ample time to explore at your own pace. I would definitely recommend The Big One if you have time, you'll only be wishing the trip was longer!

Such an amazing trip! It was such a good mixture of cities and Nature parks! I met some amazing people and saw unbelieve sights from this tour! Jared is the best tour guide you could want. You are always looked after, his knowledge about Canada is amazing and he is awesome!! He also encourages you to experience things you never thought you would with his excellent recommendations, for me I never tried Lobster or any sea food but after this trip I am a huge fan! I would recommend the Big trip, it’s worth it! As a solo traveller I did this tour and I have no regrets and wish I could do it all again, you make amazing and life long friends and the trip is the best I have ever done. Cabot trail, bay of Fundy, Tadousssc are just a couple of amazing places you see on this tour. If you haven’t booked it yet, do it!

Where do I even start? This trip is completely unique in every way, from the people you meet to the locations you get to see! It is built by Jared or Chief Adventurer, who makes it personal, authentic and adventurous in every way. He never fails to do his best to tailor to everyones needs and really puts his heart and soul into everything we do. He will get you completely immersed into the culture by getting you to listen to the music, eating the food, watching local movies while driving on the bus and will give you all sorts of incredibly cool facts about each location! Another special aspect to this trip is that it is very personal to Jared as it is locations he loves and visited regularly throughout his life, so you get to experience more off the beaten track locations with far less tourists! You get an excellent combination of city and outdoors so it's perfect for both demographics and for those who are wanting to try and explore their interests. You get an great combination of camping, hostels and yurts. When you get to stay with everyone in the group that is especially lovely because you're like one big family! My favourite part of the trip was Tadoussac becuase of the Kayaking and whales! That was especially exciting because we got to see Beluga, Porpoise and Minke. The place you stayed in was also a lot of fun. A quirky area that has a great vibe although I'd steer clear of the Tabasco shots!! Another place that was pretty exciting was Sea Shack! This is where we got to see plenty Gannets aka Sea Pigeons (in joke with the group) were diving in the masses. This also attracted Minke and we could eat dinner while watching the whales and gannets do their thing. It was such an incredible experience. This place also had an excellent vibe with live bands every evening and an awesome beach with plenty rock pools. It is the perfect mix of nature and a great night out. Last but not least, the people. The people you meet really make the trip and for me the group that I was with were everything. So lovely, open minded and a freaking blast to be around! I will never stop laughing at all the in jokes and moments we shared. We were one big family almost immediately and our time on the adventure bus, on hikes, at bars, at brunch hungover, at the beach, at anywhere at all will always be cherished and definitely not taken for granted. This is a superb trip and I would highly recommend you to do the big one. It is out of this world good! Thank you Jared and the group!! GOD DAMN THEM ALL!!

My trip with Out Here was a really fantastic one. The tour guide - Jared - has everything necessary already arranged before you even start going on the trip. He definitely knows what he is doing and always tries to make this trip an unforgettable experience for everyone. The itinerary of the Big One is really well put together and offers a great mix between vibrant cities like Ottawa, Quebec City and Montreal, and far flung destinations like the Algonquin Provincial Park. So no matter if you're looking more for a adventurous or cultural experience, you'll definitely get both. For me Algonquin, Tadoussac, Quebec City and Gaspesie were destinations I enjoyed most. Despite the pre-arranged schedule you'll have enough time to explore each place by your own if you want. Jared offers great flexibility on the trip and always has good recommondations for what to do in the place you're currently staying at, e.g. White Water Rafting on the Ottawa River, Whale-watching in Tadoussac or Via Ferrata at Canyon Sainte-Anne. If you're a little bit into Rock Climbing, I recommend doing the Via Ferrata at Canyon Sainte-Anne, it was one of my favorite activities. As Jared is cooperating with local business you're able to experience some of these activities at a reduced price. One of the great advantages of Jared's trip is that you don't have to worry about how to get from one place to another. Jared owns a spacious bus with enough room for yourself and your fellow travelers. On the road there will be enough breaks for you to go to the bathroom or filling up on some snacks. The accommodations along the trip are well picked by Jared. All of them have been very clean and tidy. At many places you're able to do the laundry if you need to. Since most of the hostels offer special discounts (e.g. reduced private room/dorm rates) if you're a HI Member, I highly recommend getting a membership right at the beginning of the trip. All in all I highly recommend joining Out Here for a trip along Canada. In my opinion there is no better way to explore this wonderful country!

What an amazing trip! I was unsure at first what it was going to be like since Out Here Canada is pretty new and a 26-day trip requires a lot of time and energy. It turned out being incredible. Jared, our tour leader, really invested his time in showing us special locations in Canada that even most locals have never seen. He would give us the opportunity to stop at every possible scenic spot available along our scenic drives including waterfalls, countless photographic gorgeous lighthouses, cute artsy towns by the water..etc. He definitely made sure we did not miss any chances to see something beautiful. Canada is a huge place, so I was concerned what the day-to-day bus schedule was going to be driving around during the trip. I turned out loving the bus - I called it our "time machine" the whole trip. The bus was comfortable, cozy, spacious (all of us ended up having 2 seats for ourselves the whole trip), and made it bearable to relax on long drive days, which were really not too bad at all. Jared made sure we stopped every 2-3 hours tops, and always allowed us to stop for a bathroom/stretch break if needed. Even on the long drive days, we were still able to stop and see something cool at some point most of the time. I must say my favorite part of the whole trip was the friendships made along the way. All 10 of us from all around the world became so close and share memories that will last a lifetime. Two Americans, a German, an Austrian, an Irishman, three Brits, an Australian, and another Canadian all in one bus for 26 days. You spent day and night with your group and get very close, very fast. One of my favorite places we visited was definitely The Sea Shack is Gaspesie. We happen to go during their national Quebec Day weekend when we had visited and the French locals were very friendly. Met a ton of travelers/locals on the beach, by the fire, or even in the kitchen (everyone was willing to chat!) It was a gorgeous location, right on the beach with live music almost every night. We even saw a pod of 3 whales right by the beach for sunset on our last night - it was amazing. I also really enjoyed my time in Quebec City. Beautiful location with gorgeous views. A lot of fun shopping in the city but also pretty views off the edge facing the water. Loved our hostel in this location as well! The hostel had a comfortable room set-up with plenty of shower rooms nearby and other hangout rooms to relax in. Staff was super kind. Also, we had a great time enjoying the nightlife there for a night. Everyone went out as a group and we hopped a couple of bars/clubs. Fun to explore for the day, but also a great time for young going-out scenery. Another great activity we got to do was canyoning. What an adrenaline rush but quite the experience. Got to jump into waterfalls, and walk down some 100-foot rocks! A little scary in some moments, but a great experience and great value for the excursion. Another favorite spot was the sand dunes in Tadoussac. Such a beautiful spot! A bunch of us rolled down the hills and relaxed at the bottom of the hill after goofing off. Never seen such amazing views like that, but also a great location to hang out and soak in some rays. Overall, 10/10 unforgettable experience!

Honestly amazed at the breadth of landscapes on display in Canada. This tour is an awesome opportunity to see and experience what are otherwise the remote and distant lands of the Canadian back country. The Cabot trail is splendid. Saw moose and all sorts of wild animals. Highly recommend! Great value and a once in a lifetime experience!
