I joined Out Here in Quebec City, since I had to opt for the trip called "Almost Big One" (which means I missed Ontario). It was amazing. Just before that, I'd had a pretty lonely journey by myself for 3 weeks, and when it was finally time to join the... Read more

FAQs

    • What type of accommodations do you use for this trip?

You will stay in a variety of accommodation on these trips including, Hostels, Lodges, Yurts, A-Frame Cabins and Camping (specific trips only, a few days) depending on what you select. To see more details please have a look at the 'What's Included' section on the main tour page. Out Here Travel can provide tents, cooking gear, and other group items. If you require a sleeping bag/ air mattress they are available for rent for a nominal fee.

    • How much baggage/luggage can I bring on the trip?

It is recommended to keep your gear to one day bag and one piece of luggage that is of a standard size, as you will be required to carry your own at times a backpack is usually the preferred type of luggage. Exact restrictions will be shared before departure once you have a confirmed booking.

    • What do I need to pack/bring for this tour?

We have an awesome gear list that we share for each trip. It is also available on our website and in our blog posts/newsletter. On some trips it is necessary to have a sleeping bag and/or air-mattress for rustic cabins and or a few nights total of camping. If you don’t have one we offer them for rent for the trip for a nominal fee.

    • What is the physical rating for this trip?

The trip is generally quite active, you will be outside doing hikes or will be exploring cities on foot. However, you don't have to be a marathon runner, professional rock climber, wilderness expert or anything of that sort as the trips are quite flexible. If you have a general level of fitness you will have a fantastic time.

    • How much time is spent travelling on the bus each day?

The time travelling on the itineraries can vary as some days you only spend an hour or two driving. Other days you will be exploring a city on foot and won't see the inside of the bus. It is good to be aware that there are a few 3 long-haul days where you have to cover a large amount of land to get to the next destination - but it usually split up with a nice Ferry ride, a huge bridge over the Ocean or it is just worth it based on the scenery getting to the next destination.
