Guide was not fluid in English. She took us to places she should have known were closed. Guide was quite nice and caring but just not capable. Hotels were far from city centers, which added to cost with price of taxis.

Hello Linda, receive a greeting from us. We deeply regret your disagreement with some aspects of the tour. Take note that the Europamundo guides have a very hard training in English and they are asked for a certificate as a bilingual guide to practice. The hotel is available from before the circuit, it is a pity that they did not check it in advance and thus be able to organize to go to the historic centers without problem in public transport. We are at your service. Best regards.... Cynthia from Europamundo

The tour itself is a great way to see all of Spain and Portugal’s main spots in under two weeks. I only have two major complaints that would make the experience better for most: 1) do not mix tour groups. On our way to Portugal a great portion of our group did not join us and we were put with an Argentine school group of teenagers (and adults that did not take responsibility for them). At each departure point the teens were late on arriving causing us to loose 15-45 minutes worth of time at each followon excursion. Since they were all minors, the tour guide wasn’t able to just leave them behind so we were upset to have missed out on precious time we paid for. 2) Most tourists are not aware that the Spanish do things later than the rest of the world—lunch is around 2-4pm and dinner is between 8-10pm. For those of us used to lunch at noon and dinner around 5-6, it made the first week a tough one as our stomachs adapted to the new schedule. Each hotel’s continental breakfast was quick and around 0630-0730 everyday so you had to make sure you stuffed yourself enough to last 7-8 hours of fast-paced touring. It would have been nice if the tour had pre-organized with a few restaurants to open for the group at earlier times (between 12-1pm) at least for the first 2 days to make the adaptation easier—or at least allow people to eat on the bus. Other than those two significant inconveniences, the tour is well worth the price for an unforgettable experience.

Hello Carlos, receive a warm greeting from us. First of all, we thank you for your valuable comments, as this allows us to improve and grow as land operators. Take note that the Europamundo Annual Convention will be held next November and I promise that these two points will be on the table in order to improve the operation of the tours. I hope that at a general level if you have been able to enjoy your trip! We remain at your orders for when you require it. Best regards..... Cynthia from Europamundo

We didn't meet our guide until we got on the bus for our orientation. No one greeted us at the hotel, and we needed to take care of our bags in & out of hotels & to the bus, etc. The bus was old, seats slippery, windows dirty and no assistance. It was frequently 5-15 minutes late, so we hurried and waited. There was no wi-fi and although there was a toilet, we could not use it. We are used to getting water on the bus, but none was provided unless we wanted to pay 1 euro for a small bottle of warm water. (Hotels also did not provide water, even though we were told it wasn't safe to drink.) The group started with 38 people, but at each stop the numbers varied. At most times, we had about 15 people yet we had a 50 seater bus. The guide never knew our names, and with new people on and off each day, it was confusing. In general, hotels were located far from city centres, in industrial parks, etc. The rooms were more 3 star than 4. Breakfast, the only meal included, varied greatly from hotel to hotel. Some really unacceptable. Both my husband and I were using a cane to walk, yet our rooms were invariably at the farthest point from the lift, even when we asked for something closer. As we had full responsibility for our bags, this was challenging. City tours were adequate, but major attractions were always at our own expense and frequently, via taxi, we returned to the hotel. Many optional tours, not announced until the day before or the day of, required 15 people. This number was not achieved until Sintra when we agreed to join the group so that it could go ahead. This 4 hour tour touted as a beautiful excursion lasted less than one hour and pictures we had seen on our guides phone were no where we were. At 30 euros a person, we felt ripped off as did others. The itinerary was occasionally thrown out and we never went into town one night where we could find lots of restaurants. Another time, we went into town, leaving the hotel at 7.30 pm and supposedly returning at 10.30 pm. We left at 7.30, arrived in town about 7.50 then walked about 15 minutes leaving us less than 1.5 hours to eat. We were told we would return at 9.30, not 10.30 as the iterary listed. The spend another 15 minutes back to the bus, we really had just over an hour, and although we were to,d there were lots of restaurants, we struggled to find anything except a very ordinary tapas bar! We have done tours with other tour companies and we had expectations. None were met. It was very disappointing. Our guide was aware of our concerns and those of other clients. He just said Europamundo doesn't offer that (luggage service, for example, and water). Our guide's English was just acceptable, but every sentence ended in "no". Information was sometimes not available or accurate. We enjoyed Spain & Portugal, however, it didn't have much to do with services we received or didn't.

Caravaca was a joke . Please stop from itinerary. all others good but too much in too short a time. Do less and spend more time . We had no time to see the beautiful museum on the cover of the brochure. Only saw the outside , nice but.. Combining our tour with a Spanish speaking tour group was troublesome. The other tour guide made us ( the English speaking people) feel like we were a burden and spoke at great length every day in Spanish "hogging" the microphone .. Anyway it was most unpleasant. Also, the practice of the tour guide leaving us "on our own" in the dark, cold, and rain in unfamiliar cities without even a map , was also very concerning and unpleasant but mostly unexpected. We were also made aware that the "other group" had more services available to them than we did.. most of us on board would have chosen those services had we realized there was an option to do so. This tour and tour guide both have great potential. In site of all that we had a good trip !
