14 Days in Italy & Greece, incl. Rome and Athens
Rich history unfolds over 12 days from Rome's Colosseum to Athens' Acropolis. The journey includes Florence, Venice, and a 3-day cruise to Mykonos and Santorini, featuring stays at 4-star hotels like Hotel St. Martin and Hotel Raffaello.

- Days 1-3
Rome & Assisi
Get settled with an airport transfer to your central Rome hotel. Start your first full day with a guided Colosseum tour at 8:30 AM before the crowds arrive. Visit the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill afterward. On day 3, leave at 7:15 AM for medieval Assisi, followed by Siena's unique shell-shaped Piazza del Campo. "The Colosseum tour was incredibly majestic. Our guide brought ancient Rome to life with fascinating stories."

- Days 4-5
Florence & Bologna
See Florence's Renaissance highlights including the Duomo and Michelangelo's "Gates of Paradise." Stop for lunch in Piazza Santa Croce. You can take an optional afternoon trip to Pisa. The next day takes you to Bologna to see its historic porticos and San Petronio Basilica. "The early mornings are tough but worth it - schedule afternoon activities for when the summer heat peaks."

Greek Islands Cruise
12 Day Rome and Cruise to the Greek Islands and the Turkish coast
Covering 12 days across 6 destinations in Greece and Italy, this trip includes 3 nights in Rome with optional Colosseum visits, 1 night in Athens, and a 7-night full-board Aegean cruise. The route includes UNESCO-listed Palace of Knossos in Heraklion, Crete, along with Santorini's white houses cascading down Fira's volcanic cliffs and Little Venice in Mykonos' capital, Chora. The cruise also stops at Thessaloniki's historic cobblestone streets and Milos' famous Kleftiko rock formations, with drinks package and all boarding fees included.

- Days 1-2
Athens
Begin in the Greek capital. Get to the Acropolis before 8:30 AM to avoid crowds and heat. Wear shoes with good grip since the marble steps can be slippery. You'll need 3-4 hours to fully explore the Parthenon and Acropolis Museum. In the afternoon, walk through the charming Plaka neighborhood, where narrow streets provide relief from the sun.

- Days 3-4
Peloponnese & Olympia
Head west through the Peloponnese. Stop at the Corinth Canal, an impressive feat of 19th-century engineering cut through solid rock. Visit the ancient theater at Epidaurus, where the acoustics are so perfect you can hear a whisper from the highest row. Plan to reach Olympia by late afternoon when tour groups have left and the ancient Olympic stadium is quiet.

- Days 5-6
Delphi & Meteora
Walk Delphi's Sacred Way early to beat the heat. One visitor shared: "The morning light hitting the Temple of Apollo ruins creates an almost mystical atmosphere - don't forget your camera." For Meteora's monasteries, pack modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees. Take the winding steps up slowly and bring plenty of water.

What people love about 2-week Greece and Italy tours
- Best of Italy and Greece with 4-day cruise
Wonderful, we really liked it.
- Athens, Peninsula and Complete Sicily (32 destinations)
all in all a good trip, but in respect to the hotels that we stayed in after each day we found the even though they were listed as 4 star we feel there were a few key facilities that were missing there were no tea or coffee making facilities in most of the rooms of the hotels we stayed in. after a long days traveling and sight seeing a nice cup of tea or coffee in the peace and quiet of our hotel room would have been nice. the other challenges for me and my partner were the bathrooms. we are 67 and 70 years old respectively we are not over the hill, but we found the baths shower combination in most of the hotel rooms challenging with some of them being quiet slippery when having a shower then trying to get out without slipping over. walk in showers are the way forward and shower mates in all.
