My links with Shiva and his team at Nepal Lion Tours and Treks spans over nearly 6 years. Just before COVID struck I had planned this trek with my dad and unfortunately could not come. Shiva came highly recommended to me by a good friend who had completed the 3 passes trek and he spoke very highly of Shiva. I was worried because of COVID that the money I had paid in advance would ‘disappear’. At all times Shiva was a man of his word. He initially offered me a full refund but I decided to postpone my trip and knew I would come again. When I finally was able to come (minus my dad but with 2 great friends in tow) it was like meeting a long-lost family member. Shiva immediately began to ensure we had a smooth start in Nepal. It’s the small things often that mean a lot – Shiva taking us to a pharmacy to stock up on the latest medicines we might need for the trip or personally meeting us at the airport were 2 such examples. Shiva introduced us to our guide Binod who was likewise fantastic. Once an unfortunate accident meant that our bags carried by the porters were mislaid. Binod personally hiked back up our route on a 3 hour round trip to locate our bags despite just having trekked over 6 hours to our destination and having woken up at 3am the previous night to take us on a hike to KalaPattar. I would 100% recommend Shiva and his company and will hopefully be returning next April to carry on trekking with Nepal Lion Tours and Treks.

Shiva and his team arranged a magnificent trip to Everest Base Camp! Me and my friends all made it safely and had an amazing time in Nepal! If you are interested in a tour I can't reccomend Shiva and his team enough. Special mention to Binod our guide also he was amazing all 12 days with us! We look forward to the next time!
You never forget your first view of Everest. Mine was as I trudged alongside my guide on the trail as we left Namche. If you have a bucket list, this has to be on it in some form. The scenery is beautiful, the area is totally worth every ounce of effort it takes to get there. If you are flying in through Lukla Airport, you can hire a hire porter straight away to help you with your bags or backpack if you want to make the climb more manageable. Most people follow the EBC trail for many days as they slowly acclimatize, so take your time and enjoy the most stunning place on earth.

One of my friends had been recommended Shiva's company and I'm glad he had as Shiva had a handle on everything from the start. Organisation and communication was superb as well as fantastic value for money. Our guide, Binod, met us at Kathmandu Airport along with Shiva and then never left our side for the trip. Binod took us to the pharmacy and shops to make sure we had all our last minute medicines etc. The flight to Lukla was sensational and then we met our porters. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Binod and Sabin, our main porter. They were super friendly and efficient. We stayed in cosy tea houses and food and drink was always good. I can't believe how well potatoes grow in the Himalayas! We are looking at another trek in the region next Easter and, if we do, we will definitely book with Shiva and Nepal Lion Tours again 🇳🇵 🦁 100% recommend. Fantastic company and services!
