Your trip to Shetland was as you had described that it would be. I loved the experience, the sites and most of those on the tour. It was a lot more hiking than I had planned for doing for my legs. Our guide Tony was very helpful to me and others. We enjoyed him very much. I would have liked more interaction with locals and learning how they make their living in Shetland.

I was handed over to join a second driver and group for the Orkney 4 days without hiccup and the second phase was equally informative and trouble free. Travelling alone as an older person I really appreciated the communication skills, knowledge and professionalism and driving expertise of both drivers. A small group with drivers' excellent local knowledge was able to travel in style and avoid summer crowds from coach trips. The out of the way scenic lookouts, little cafes and breathtaking countryside together with sound history and folk-lore were able to be enjoyed to the full, without rushing. Thanks Robbie and Graham A couple of the accomodations were average, while clean and comfortable had hot water issues or poor breakfast provided. I believe changes in management had occurred and will let admin know details.
