Operator's comment: Hi Sophie, Thanks for your lovely review! It was an absolute pleasure to be able to show you the best that Palawan has to offer. We always aim to keep the itinerary varied with something new everyday, which sounds like you experienced perfectly! We hope to see you in Sri Lanka soon!
Operator's comment: Hi Tom, Thanks for your great review! Awesome to hear you found the perfect balance of day trips, activities and chill out time on tour with us. Sleeping on our own private island is pretty epic, isn't it! Chloe definitely has all the local insider knowledge to make sure you're always experiencing the best of every place we visit. See you on another trip soon! :)
Operator's comment: Hi Listette, Best tour to date?! Shucks... Thanks so much! We do try and take you to places that would be really difficult, if not impossible to do on your own. Making it a truly unforgettable once in a lifetime experience! Safe and happy onward travels!
Operator's comment: Hi Mi, Thanks for the review. Whilst we do try our best to include free time on the tour, this trip is billed more as an adventure type holiday. There is a lot to see and do in the 10 days and we have worked hard to find a great balance between activities and adventure such as the hours spent free on the beaches of Port barton, free mornings in Port Barton and a whole free afternoon in El Nido to explore the surrounding areas or just chill. We try to fill the days on tour so we can maximise our customer’s value for money, however we are sorry you don’t see it this way. Our accommodation (Z Hostel, Canvas Boutique Hotel & Spin Designer Hostel) are all rated as outstanding and by far and away some the best accommodation available.
Operator's comment: Hey Beth, thanks for your great review and we're so happy you had such an incredible time with us! Chloe is an absolute hero when it comes to taking care of people and we'll pass on your thanks to her. We hope to see you again soon! :)
Operator's comment: Hi Shannon, Wow! Wouldn't change a thing? That's so great to hear! We hope to see you on one of our other tours soon! Happy travels!
Operator's comment: Hi Emma, you're so welcome! So great to hear that you had a wonderful time with us. The Philippines is super special and we're stoked to have shared it with you. See you again soon on one of our other trips! :)
Operator's comment: Hey Soren, thanks for your kind words! Aliens turning their heads is a first for us, but we'll take it as a good thing! ;) Chloe is pretty amazing, isn't she? We're so glad to have been able to show you a brilliant time. See you again soon!
Operator's comment: Hi Sydney, thanks so much for your lovely review. We aim to have a nice balance between popular and off the beaten track locations. We've worked hard to tweak our itinerary to showcase the best food, snorkel stops and destinations in every place. Absolutely, Chloe does a fantastic job of injecting life into every tour. We'll see you soon in Sri Lanka! :)

Operator's comment: Hey Kate, thank you for your review. We can only apologise for any unfortunate incidents that occurred during your tour. We also apologise if the itinerary in the welcome e-mail was slightly wrong which we can assure you has now been rectified. With the Wifi, we can only ask for understanding given that Palawan is still a highly developing island with Wifi still on the governments' agenda to improve. The hotel we use in Port Barton is one of the original properties in the area, which is actually owned by the first lady in Port Barton to put up a hotel. This runs in our agenda of working with and helping the local community, rather than staying at one of the foreign-owned, corporate hotels in the town. Whilst we also don’t advertise a pool or the hostel being close to the beach in El Nido, we do ensure that we visit the best beaches in the area as well as visiting beach bars for sunset. With regards to the Cebu add-on, whilst this isn't actually part of the main tour, it is still an 'adventure' type trip. Chloe recommended the private transportation as it was “Holy Week” during your trip which meant the public buses would have been notoriously busy, any other time during the year, the buses are actually a comfortable experience of getting around the island. We also do try our best to make the add-on affordable and have many inclusions such as the Whale sharks, multiple waterfall visits, accommodation, transportation and meals, so we try to source accommodation with a great rating but also in line with our price of the tour. Finally, being a young company, we do rely on and appreciate reviews from guests. As there are no other computers available in Spin, this is simply the most convenient way for guests to be able to share their experiences. Chloe has assured us that she helps people get registered and online, and One Life would never condone instructing a guide to actively aid in what a guest writes in a review. All reviews are independent opinions of that guest’s experience on our tour.
Operator's comment: Hi Jennifer, thanks for your review. We're very sorry to hear about your experience with us. We agree that the island hopping situation in El Nido should have been handled better, we have spoken to the ownership and management of the boat to make sure these issues don't come up again in the future. We can assure you that all guides at One Life Adventures are First Aid trained, however, Chloe felt that the 2 nurses on the trip had more experience in handling the injury whilst she concentrated on working with the boat crew to find a replacement to get the injured guest back to shore, however some mechanical issues meant that the boat was delayed. We also apologise if the itinerary in the welcome e-mail was slightly wrong which we can assure you has now been rectified. Chloe has shown us, however, screenshots of messages sent to the entire group detailing and explaining each day and what was required and expected, messages like these may have been missed due to the relatively poor Wifi that is present all across Palawan. With regards to the Cebu add-on, whilst this isn't actually part of the main tour, it is still an 'adventure' type trip. The accommodation across all of Cebu is not to the standard of that in Palawan, so whilst we do our best to partner with the most highly rated hostels in the area, the level is not to the same as what you can expect from your main tour. The whale sharks is an eco-certified activity and one that is government controlled and regulated. We have been following this with the Department of Tourism for some time, who assure us they have regular meetings to discuss the welfare of the Whale-sharks. The Philippines is very hot on sustainability and tourism level environmental impacts and have agreed that this activity, in particular, does not violate any local animal welfare laws. Again we apologise if this trip wasn't to your satisfaction, but I hope you can see that most of the issues you encountered have now been rectified and explained in better detail.
Operator's comment: Hi Emily, thanks for your review. We're very sorry to hear about your experience with us, as we have taken thousands of people on tour and never once received a review such as this. We agree that the island hopping situation in El Nido should have been handled better and we have already been in contact with the owners and management team who operate it to ensure they improve their communication between our guests. We take the safety of our guests extremely seriously and each guide is First Aid qualified in order to deal with things like this. Luckily for Chloe on this trip, there were 2 nurses on the tour who were happy to step in and help out. Technical errors sometimes happen sadly, and in your case there was a booking error in our system. We gave you the option of staying with the rest of the group which you declined, opting instead to stay in a hotel we don't usually use, 5 minutes away from the group. This was an extremely busy time of the year in the Philippines and our team assured us they explored every possible avenue in finding you suitable accommodation. We also refunded the difference in cost, plus extra for you and your partner to spend in El Nido to say sorry from us. We were also informed that you opted to walk to the hotel on arrival into El Nido so that you could get your bearings in the town, however, we were still happy to refund you any transportation costs you may have incurred. Again we apologise if this trip wasn't to your satisfaction, but I hope you can see that we did all we could to rectify a simple booking error and provide suitable reimbursement during an extremely busy holiday time in the Philippines.
Operator's comment: Hi Hannah, We agree! The island hopping in Port Barton is such an incredible experience, especially swimming with turtles! So glad you had a great time, thanks for your great review!
