Thank you for your understanding during Typhoon Hagibis, we agree it is a bummer when we are prevented from doing some activities because of weather related incidents so again thank you for understanding that some things are out of our control. As far as meals go, we were unable to have a few meals that help give the full experience due to closures from the Typhoon, we did still have the chance to try some of the dishes that Japan is famous for during our sushi making class! As far as our guides go, although we may not have a local guide to go to every location with us we do have a series of local legends who meet us on different points of tour to fill in the gaps, most notably Hitomi who brings us the history of the Gion district and Tomoyoshi who gives us the history of Kendo and the Samurai class. We agree honesty is best and we are always working to improve our tours so if you have any recommendations on how to better improve your experience please feel free to contact us directly. Z Hostel regularly makes the top 10 list of best hostel in Asia as it is famed for it's social atmosphere, we can only apologize if this wasn't for you. Our beachfront Port Barton cottages truly represent what we're all about- the true local experience. Port Barton is still very much a developing town, the reason why for so many of our guests it is their favourite stop on town. Unfortunately, as you travelled in the middle of summer, the entire town was having water shortages, which we could do very little about until it rained again. In some developing nations, water shortages do occur, as I'm sure you can understand is out of our control. The canopy walk in El Nido provides a beautiful birds-eye view of the entire town and the world famous Cadlao lagoon. We pride ourselves on having a full itinerary with many inclusions, one of which is the canopy walk. Other reviews mention that this is a highlight of the tour for them, so we are sorry if you felt this shouldn't have been included as part of the tour cost. You are correct that alcoholic drinks are no longer allowed on any boats in El Nido as this is a government-issued rule. Sorry to hear about the weather that day, I'm afraid both of these aspects are outside of our control. The combination of the Philippine Experience cultural day, history talks, prison visit and working with local suppliers, meaning that we strive to give our guests an authentic experience of the Philippine and their culture.
