Already booked a tour?Meet your tour group before you go! Viva Expeditions Reviews
16th March 2013: Viva did a fabulous job in organising our W trek tour. Our guide was fantastic and everything was well explained and ran smoothly. Prior to starting the W trek, Viva also organised for us to go to El Calafate to see Puerito Moreno glaciar which was incredible.
From the moment we stepped off the plane in El Calafate through to completion of the W trek in Puerto Natales everything was taken care of. A very well organised, enjoyable tour. Thanks Viva.
5th December 2012: This was an excellent tour and one that I would recommend to anybody. Not only is Patagonia stunning, the tour itself added to the experience. Tony, Diane and Esperanza (overland vehicle) could not have been more accomodating - it is clear that they love what they do and want to share it with their passengers. A highly recommended trip!
3rd December 2012: This was a brilliant tour. We actually went BA, Iguassu Falls, Rio and added on a couple of night in Santiago. The guides were excellent and the accommodation was great. I recommend you stay at Hotel de Cataratas at Iguassu Falls. You get the benefit of one of the World's best hotels in an incomparable setting. We cannot fault the locations or any of the inclusions. The Tango Show in BA was a highlight.
1st December 2012: We had an incredible holiday in Peru. We can't rate Viva Expeditions highly enough and would thoroughly recommend them to anybody considering visiting this amazing part of the world. From the time that we made initial enquiries and then bookings the staff at Viva Expeditions couldn't have been more helpful. The pre-trip information we were given was accurate and thorough. We arranged some add-on trips through Viva and all the arrangements were made efficiently and the standard of the trips was also excellent.
We travelled for 23 days in this amazing 4 wheel drive truck, luxuriously converted to carry up to 16 passengers. The seats were very comfortable and we had amazing visibility from the truck. The truck was able to go places that buses couldn't and yet we had a very comfortable ride. There was even an on board toilet! Our driver and tour leader were fantastic. They both spoke Spanish fluently and had several years experience taking tours in South America. They were knowledgeable, very organised also lots of fun. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing experience. We were very pleasantly surprised with the good standard of accomodation that we had - classed as Superior Tourist Hotels. All the hotels were very comfortable and clean with en-suites. They were all better than we had expected. On this trip most of the evening meals and lunches were included. This was great as we all ate as a group which was more fun and we didn't have the concern about where we were going to eat each night! The trip included air flights over the Nazca lines, visiting Colca Canyon, entry to many archaeological sites and the Inca Trail and Macchu Picchu. At each place we had local guides who were incredibly passionate and knowledgeable. This was a fun and adventurous way to see Peru but totally stress free allowing Viva Expeditions to take care of everything!
24th November 2012: Rachel, Brendan, Diana and Tony were our fantastic tour guides. They made a friendly and attentive team. Their knowledge and experience of South America in general, and Chile and Argentina in particular, made for a fun, relaxing and informative trip.
The Viva Truck must be mentioned as it was also an important part of the team - very comfortable, roomy, all mod cons, and great views. Our picnic lunches from the truck were excellent.
Climbing the Villarica Volcano through the snow in bright sunshine and the trek in Torres del Paine were two of the amazing highlights. All in all a brilliant holiday.
18th November 2012: Rachel and Brendan went to great lengths to accommodate the requirements of our group (We were 7 friends, joining the tour at different times). They are very knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. Everythng they planned for us worked like clockwork, which was a great achievement considering how diverse our group was. They were also very flexbile and allowed us to participate in extra activities such as the four day trek to Torres Del Paine without it impacting on other group members. the Truck is very comfortable and well kitted out. They take great pride in their business and the travellers comfort and experience is thier top priority. Whether you want a standard trip or private itinerary, I would not hesitate to recommend Viva Expeditions
12th November 2012: Searching online for a tour of Patagonia, which went to all the amazing places but still offered a degree of comfort, I found this one and have to say it certainly had it all. Our well informed crew were attentive to the needs of everyone. The custom built vehicle offered comfort while taking us to all the incredible out of the way places. Accommodation was varied but always comfortable. Meals offered a wide selection of local fare. Overall excellent value for money, something for everyone and my best travel experience ever! Higly recommended.
6th November 2012: This trip was awesome. The truck got us into places I can't imagine getting to alone, the crew knew all the best spots to eat, shop, view and hike and the best people to give us the ultimate experiences wherever we went.
The accommodation was always comfortable and clean, widely varied from "home made" cabins in the middle of nowhere to tents and camp stretchers in even more remote places. The crew took care of all the work so group members could get as involved as they liked but had plenty of time to explore and soak in the sights.
Hikes varied from easy strolls to very challenging, but they were always optional and the crew made sure there were alternatives for those who wanted an easier day.
Viva did a great job preparing and delivering an amazing trip - highly recommended! :-)
6th November 2012: This was an amazing experience, staying in open rooms (with mozzie nets!) in the middle of the jungle. We saw agouti from our room and many animals in their natural, wild habitat; macaws, toucans, capybara, pirhanas, tarantulas, alligators, monkeys and more.
The lodge is in the middle of nowhere - it takes a couple of hours to travel up the river in a motorised canoe-type boat. What a way to go!
The accommodation is very well designed but mostly electricity free. Most of the time this was a great part of the experience, but at night I'd have done anything for a fan! It was hot, hot, hot and sticky, sticky, sticky. But hey, it's the jungle, right?
Our guide was brilliant - Reuben - and he spotted so many critters we'd have missed. He explained the trees, habitats, all kinds of things, but also let us be immersed in sounds of the rainforest.
This is the kind of trip everyone should do at least once.
6th November 2012: What an amazing trip could not fault it. Overland transport was great very comfortable and a lot of thought had gone into the building of this. We went places that most would normally pass and the guide and driver were great, with the small group you really get a personalised service and their knowledge of the country was awesome answering all our question. The trip is definetley one that we will never forget
