Had a great time in the Pagoda pass - it's a great way to see the best bits of Myanmar in good time. Our guide was very helpful throughout the trip, particularly guiding us to the quieter temples in Bagan on e-bikes and he had loads of good restuarant recommendations. Sometimes we stayed in hostels that weren't Stray's recommendation as they were a bit cheaper but otherwise would highly recommend the Pagoda pass!

Checking out the temples at Bagan on a scooter, cruising around Inle Lake, crashing a Burmese wedding in Mandalay and the friendly people were all highlights. Our guide La was a laidback legend and took us to the best places to eat and had everything organised. Accommodation at drop off points was basic but cheap and all included breakfast. Good times and interesting place to visit.

Myanmar has always been on my list of the places I really wanted to visit. As tourism is relatively new I wasn't really sure how easy it would be to travel individually and therefore chose to travel with a tour instead. What I liked about Stray is that they offer more flexibility with their hop-on, hop-off passes meaning that if you like a place you can decide to stay longer and just continue traveling with the next group. As I was traveling to Myanmar in low-season the tours were only running as guided tours (without the option to hop-off), however the itinerary allows enough time at each place to explore and see all the highlights. We had a Stray guide traveling with us the entire time, giving information and arranging transport and accommodation for us plus a local guide at the stops that showed us around and gave a lot of in-depth information. We were able to ask questions and learned a lot about Myanmar and the local way of life. I found this tour really good value for money: the transportation was very comfortable and the selected accommodation was good. Myanmar is a really interesting and fascinating country and Stray really covers all the highlights you want to see.

Strayasia market themselves as a hop-on hop-off bus travel company so you might be concerned that you share a bus with a bunch of travelers and are simply shipped from town to town and left to work things out for yourself in each new place. Truth is, that is far from the case. Sure you get reliable transport between attractions but you also get an experienced guide on the bus, off the bus and for every step along the way. I knew what to expect having traveled with Strayasia through Laos in late 2014, so didn't hesitate when it came to the new Pagoda Pass tour in Myanmar. Only recent;y open to tourism, trips/tours in Myanmar are some of the most expensive in Asia but the Pagoda Pass tour was very cost-effective! Not only did we have a guide for the whole trip but we also had a local guide in each place visited who's knowledge specific to that centre was invaluable and greatly appreciated. The highlights of Myanmar for me were undoubtedly Bagan with in excess of 2,000 temples and Pagodas, Inle Lake with its mix of traditions (one-leg rowing) and longboats for tourist as well as trade, and Kalaw for it's lay-back lifestyle in the mountains. Myanmar is a must-see part of Asia and the Pagoda Pass by Strayasia is a fantastic way to experience it!
