Christian "Burma sailing is one of the most unique experiences. Off the beaten path barely even gets close, in 9 days of sailing I only saw one boat with other tourists. The other vessels were local fisherman, one of which we bartered to get some of their fresh catch! I feel very privilaged to have enjoyed the very first intrepid sailing trip through Burma and it was one of the most amazing and memorable travel experiences I have ever had and i'd say it will remain that way until I die. Three words come to mind when I think of Mike the skipper. Cool, Calm and Collected!

The trip was the adventure of a lifetime. From the countless untouched beaches, to the unforgettable vistas and the friendly locals it was nothing short of unforgettable. The ultimate thanks goes to the skipper (Michael Forbes) and crew though for not only sharing this uncharted adventure and past expatriates, but also filled out bellies with the most amazing catch of the day. I can honestly say that this is one trip I will do again. Lots of thanks and hope to see you guys soon.

Burma sailing is one of the most unique experiences. Off the beaten path barely even gets close, in 9 days of sailing I only saw one boat with other tourists. The other vessels were local fisherman, one of which we bartered to get some of their fresh catch! The boat that you take is a very sea worthy vessel called the Simili, a catamaran with a lot of deck space to lounge and relax. You guide and South African skipper is Michael Forbes who has an absolute passion for the sea and knows the Myeik archipelago like the back of his hand. If you want to catch your lunch Mike knows the best fishing spots or if you want a nice beach or a hike with an incredible view you just need to ask. Marie Watson is the on board chef who can mike the local dishes using local ingredients but also make the comfort foods you are used to at home. The boat comes equipped with paddle boards, kayaks and snorkels. Everything you need to explore the small islands...the paddling was quite amazing! One highlight was going to the a beach, setting up a bonfire and cooking dinner under the stars. On the way home the ocean literally glowed with Bioluminescent phytoplankton (yes I had to copy and paste that), I can't describe how amazingly bright it was! There are opportunities to visit the Moken people including their market and schools. As few tourists visit these areas it is a delight to meet these people. All in all a great adventure away from the thousands of tourists boats and hustle of Thailand. Can't wait to go back! I put this video together to really describe it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GV-kxsHr4w

If you mesh well with your travelling companions, it's going to be a great trip. This tour should really be called snorkeling and kayaking Myanmar. Due to traveling constraints, you spend the 5 hours motoring each day, so there's really no sailing involved. The only good snorkeling is around the resort island.
