We feel that bike tours are the best way to experience Europe. The pace is perfect to explore towns and countryside, to meet people. BikeToursDirect started with our own passion for bike touring in Europe. We didn’t want to pay the prices charged by many American tour operators, so we made direct contact with overseas companies. We found we could enjoy the same experience at a fraction of the cost. (That’s BikeToursDirect owner and founder Jim Johnson below right enjoying a tour near Salzburg.) Often the experience was even better, since the European companies attracted clients from around Europe. As much as we love Americans (we’re based in Tennessee), we didn’t want to ride exclusively with Americans. Riding with a multi-national group was much more fun.
