28th May 2013: I loved everything about the trip, I don't want to leave and would have stayed but I can't change my flight, Scott and Leslie put their all into everything they do for us and put us first when it comes to everything, I am thinking about doing the tour with them in feb next year going north, it's been one of the best trips ever and we had a great group, the destinations were amazing. What more can I say.
5th March 2013: Couldn't have asked for a better overall experience. Our crew were fantastic and really helped us to see Africa in a way that would have been difficult on our own. Travelling on the truck meant we had access to places that aren't on the map and got to stop in the beautiful middle-of-nowhere spots. Loved the meals round the campfire (not so great when you're on cook group but hey, it has to be done!). The majority of campsites were great and we really got to experience a lot thanks to all the optional activities on offer. Overall I absolutely loved my time with Oasis and I will be coming back for more! :)
4th September 2012: Wow what a trip ,the best holliday /trip i have ever been on ,so much to see and do lots of different culture & landscapes,
i was recommended oasis overland by a friend who did the deserts and game parks trip 3 years ago ,and told me i had to do the full trip this is the best advice i have ever been given
this trip has a great itinerary very good value for money and the drive & tour leader were awesome & i now regard them as friends , the trip has so many different parts & i am still sorting out my 10,000 photos 2 months later and it brings back thing i had forgotten ,all the adrenalin activities were amazing but i think the george swing brought me the most amazing photos , weather you go on this as a holliday or photographic trip there is lots of wildlife and game parks it will be the best decision you will ever make , i will always remember the words on the wall at the skydiving office " fear is only temporary regret lasts a lifetime " i loved this trip so much that i am planing to go do the gorillas & game park again
22nd August 2012: I had an absolutely exceptional 287 days on this trip! The trip notes prepared me well for what to expect! At times in was rough, just like the trip notes said it would be! My guide worked her butt off to ensure the trip ran smoothly and could even bake cakes over an open fire! The food was healthy, plentiful and meals were well balanced, however being a picky eater it was sometimes hard for me to "love" the food. ( My fault) We did have changes to our itinerary and some delays however, I genuinely feel that the decisions that were made were for our own safety and that the office was constantly watching out for us! I can't really comment on accommodation... I loved my tent and some campsites/hotels were better than others. I enjoyed bush camping and give that a 5 star rating! Expect the unexpected, go with the flow, prepare to rough it and this trip will change your outlook on the world. Overall, the trip was good value for money but I did need way more money than the trip notes suggest and I bought next to nothing in way of souvenirs. (compared to others). I would recommend this trip to serious adventure travelers but if you'll miss flush toilets it may not be your thing. I'll miss the truck and my truck family tons!
20th August 2012: Oasis Overland isn’t a household name in Australia and you only tend to hear about Oasis from people that have travelled with them before. Each and every person who has travelled with them absolutely loves them! I was referred to Oasis by my soon to be sister in law who did the coast to coast overland a few years ago and raved about it. My now fiancé (I proposed on the trip… sunrise hot air balloon flight over the Serengeti!!) and I planned our trip two years prior and made some big sacrifices to make travelling for 3 months possible. So as you can image we had massive expectations. Expectations I didn’t think any company could ever meet. Oasis not only met my expectations, they blew them away! From the very first correspondence to the end of the trip and beyond everyone involved within Oasis were amazing.
As I was planning to propose to my girlfriend on the trip I emailed Oasis prior to my trip to discuss ideas/locations for the proposal. I was amazed by the amount of help I received. Not only help but genuine interest and excitement in my situation. You won’t find that service anywhere else. Once the trip started Malcolm (tour leader at the time) pulled me aside to discuss some ideas further. The entire crews help was beyond what I could have ever asked and made my dream proposal possible. I can’t thank them enough. We were lucky enough to have 4 crew members at different points of the trip who were all fantastic. The majority of the trip was with Grace as tour leader and Malcolm as TRUCK driver after Iain left in Zimbabwe to start his silk road adventure. I not only regard the crew as great people who are fantastic at their jobs but also as close friends who enjoyed the trip as much as anyone.
Oasis crew are everyday down to earth people who have all done the trips as passengers so they know firsthand what passengers want from an overland tour. They too just want to have a good time and enjoy the trip just as much as you or I. It's the simple things the crew does every day that make the trip unforgettable. Things like ‘The Game Of Life’, ‘3 Second Rule’, ‘Truck Olympics’, ‘Assassin’. It’s these simple things that create memories of a lifetime.
If you’re looking for the adventure of your life and reading this you are on the right track. If your wondering if Africa is the right destination... don't! It's the most amazing Continent on earth! You just have to do the trip to find out why as it just can't be explained. There is something about Africa... when she grabs hold.. she never lets go! Book an Oasis trip… It will be the best decision you’ll ever make!!!

6th August 2012: Amazing trip
20th April 2012: I returned home from this incredible trip about 3 months ago and I'm STILL missing the fun and excitement we experienced. If I had the chance, I would do it all over again. For safe, fun, well-organised and good-value overseas travel, Oasis Overlanding is definitely the way to go.
Our guide, Derek, was extremely knowledgeable, competent and organised and really brought the group together with his fantastic personality and sense of humour. His interaction with the locals was compassionate and heart-warming and we were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to meet several local communities and get involved with them in lots of different ways. Derek really put his own individual stamp on our tour and if/when I go on another Oasis Overland trip, I would make sure he was my guide again.
The truck was really comfortable and had plenty of room for all our gear. The tents were very roomy and kept the mozzies out and the excellent kitchen/dining facilities made cooking and eating out under the stars a nightly highlight.
The itinerary was well thought out and had something for everyone. Definite highlights were trekking to the Mountain Gorillas, white-water rafting the mighty Nile, safaris in the Serengeti and seeing the Great Migration, snorkeling and sunset cruises on Zanzibar (quite possibly one of the most beautiful places on earth), walking with lion cubs, game viewing on elephant and horseback, gorge-swinging and microlight flights over Victoria Falls, the list goes on!
Our group included some of the friendliest and funniest people I have ever met – people I now call great friends and will hopefully meet again in the future. I will never forget my 2 months in Africa and out of our entire 12-month overseas trip, it was easily the best part.
16th February 2012: Had the most amazing adventure holiday. Looking back I met some wonderful people that have now become life long friends and had a great tour leader, who was an elf and not a leprechaun! And the drivers on trip, Nathan, an absolute legend endured from severe back problems and still drove us to our destinations on time while enduring a hell of a lot pain (really appreciate it dude, hope you get better!). And Charles, the happiest man alive! I felt like a kid again, especially doing press ups in the most awkward places when you mention MINE (Ten Pressups!) :)and Karaoke every night, Derek is a karaoke machine! I saw every animal under the sun, even witnessing a leopard kill in the wild, glared at the most amazing African sunrises and sunsets I have ever seen, met amazing local people and done some of the most action packed stuff, skydiving being a particular highlight (Great times!)... I miss the truck (Stiffler), I miss the group and I miss the adventure of Africa. Thanks Oasis, cheers Derek, Nathan, Charles and the Gang for a once in a lifetime trip! :)
