My family loved going for our first whitewater rafting trip with O.A.R.S. on the Rouge! We have a variety of fitness levels in our family and O.A.R.S. was able to accommodate us all - whether my Mom wanted to relax and take a break from rowing or my brother wanted to run some rapids on his kayak or I wanted to jump in some small rapids and run them while swimming we got to do it all. Even though the trip was only 5 days long, we got to know the other families on the tour and all our guides very well - we became our own little rafting family for the week. The guides even baked a cake over the camp stove for all of the travelers celebrating their birthdays and we spend that evening playing games by the water, getting our "River Toes" (basically we painted everyone's toe-nails with crazy designs and animals on them, even the guys!), and planning tomorrow's adventures.
I loved how the O.A.R.S. guides were able to cater the trip to a variety of needs and interest levels. For those that just wanted to work out for a few hours then relax while eating delicious food and drinking fine wines - they set that up. For those of us that wanted to learn some survival skills and whitewater techniques - they set that up. For those that just wanted to make sure that their young daughter had a safe trip - they did that too. With five guides on the trip they were able to provide individualized service and experiences which was wonderful.
I highly recommend O.A.R.S. and the Rogue River trip and can't wait to travel with them again!
