No Roads Expeditions Reviews
What an awesome trek.. Our Guide was sensational and his knowledge beyond belief. History is raw..... Porters are angels from heaven. Fellow trekkers, a team I will never forget and always be bonded to..... and an experience that is life changing.
Norm, our guide, was amazing. His knowledge of Military history was superb & has a great personality for leading a trek group. The porters did a fabulous job & were always there when we needed them. We had a fantastic group of Trekkers so all in all it was an amazing and life changing experience!!! Thanks No Roads!!
An amazing experience, would thoroughly recommend. Having done several other No Roads trips, this one was a luxury in many repects, no tents & the pleasure of a hot shower & glass of wine at the end of each day ! Don't hesitate , as this was the first No Roads TMB trip, I can assure you the next one, will be even better!
Pete and I were very impressed with how smoothly everything went, all pickups and transfers were on time and nothing seemed too much trouble for your people in Indonesia. Even when we wanted to deviate from the set schedule things were quickly rearranged for us.
Ronnie and the team at Mt Rinjani Trekking club were just wonderful and immediately made us feel welcome and at ease with being in a different country. Aman Tutti, our guide and the porters where nothing short of amazing. Always cheerful and eager to help, it was a real pleasure to be with them.
It soon became apparent on the trek that No Roads was the most well equipped trekking company with the most experienced guides. Aman Tutti lead us up the easier route on the mountainside passing many others and and reaching the summit in good time. It was commented by others from different company's that we had newer and bigger tents.
I don't know how they did it but the team turned out great meals and there was always more than enough to eat. No tummy upsets for anyone trekking in our team.
We will definitely use No Roads again.
We have had a great time and saw many Orangutans and other wildlife in Sumatra. Elephant treck in Tankahan was an unforgettable experience as well. Thanks to No Roads team for excellent organisation.
All the guides looked very well after us!
Great trip!
Had a truly fantastic three and a bit weeks away on the Everest Base Camp/Island Peak trek.
The itinerary that was executed significantly enhanced the experience for all of us. Rather than be exposed to the high traffic routes from the outset, we took a less heavily trafficked route from Namche Bazaar to Khumjung, and thence to Phortse before rejoining the more densely trafficked route at Dingboche.
Not only did these changes get us (even further) off the beaten track, but they further reduced the likelihood of us experiencing altitude sickness.
We were extremely impressed by the knowledge and experience of our all local guides. In the early stages of the trek, our lead guide, insisted on us undertaking "optional" walks, the sole purpose of which was to get additional vertical metres into our bodies before returning to a lower altitude to sleep. As a consequence, none of us experienced any AMS symptoms....and this without any of us having to resort to taking Diamox.
The standard of meals was excellent. I think going into the trek, our two biggest concerns were over the quality of the accommodations and meals. The meals were excellent throughout - and that stepped up another notch when we got into Island Peak Base Camp where we had our own cooks.....I don't think I've ever tasted a better toasted sandwich than those provided to us upon our arrival there!
The standard of the guides was outstanding. In particular, the lead guide. His knowledge of the area added significantly to us developing an understanding of local Sherpa culture and his understanding of the causes of and treatments for AMS provided us with great reassurance that should unforeseen circumstances afflict us, he would be more than capable of dealing with it. I cannot speak highly enough of him, and the other guides.
My group did Annapurna Base Camp with No Roads. This was my second trek to Nepal. This trek was amazing. The Guide,Sherpa and Porters were or a very high standard and ensured that our welfare was of the highest priority to them. Too many outstanding experiences to begin to describe. No Roads organised the whole trek and deserve nothing less than five stars in every department. We will be heading to Everest Base Camp next year with great enthusiasm. We will be trekking with No Roads.
We were in awe of Boka, Johnny, Elise, Jolly and Piklie. They all were tireless and incredibly strong. I'm fairly sure we wouldn't have made it to the top without their support. We'll always be grateful for their energy and diligence.
What an amazing crew. Doby, Rubiyah, Ugi and Halim were a complete pleasure to be with on the boat. Their knowledge of the area and concern for us always left us in awe.
Michelle, Matias, Tasman, Sukar, Lexie and Yub were all amazing and a pleasure to know. Their concern and devotion to their jobs and relationships were a constant source of enjoyment for us.
