Then I have a few weeks to myself where I need to end up in Athens to do a mainland tour of Greece with Cosmos and then a Greek Island hopper with Contiki. "Wow what a great trip, very well organized, only reason I only gave 4 stars for the guide was that our Turkish leader though very knowledgable was a little over the top, optional tours became compulsory even for those that didn't really want to do them, 'eat here, eat this' ' go there, do that' etc...."

The itinerary was fast paced and exciting. I've seen Whirling Dervishes, taken an authentic Turkish bath (I think the guy actually broke one of my ribs - ouch!), slept inside a cave, gotten lost on the streets of Istanbul, seen the countryside, dipped my toes in the Aegean (brrr)..."
