The snow-covered Cotopaxi volcano is the highest active volcano in the world, and an overnight climb is one of the many tours available in Ecuador. Another is a visit to the eerie Cloud Forest of Mindo. A hair raising train journey called ‘Devil’s Nose’ is not for the faint hearted, and not to be missed is a day at the Otavolo markets which date from pre-Incan times, considered the best for textiles and crafts in South America.

"Hello fellow Rio to Quito Via Ushuaia travelers!
Just wanted to see who would be in Rio for Carnival prior to the tour? My sister and I will be there from the 1st of February and would love to catch up before the trip.

"We would like to know other people's interests on this trip. We like birdwatching but are not fanatical, we are both SCUBA divers so will be doing a lot of snorkelling."

"We had a suburb experience on the Galapagos Multisport Adventure. I can't speak highly enough about our guide, Salvador Cazar - an active biologist working on issues of sustainable tourism. Not only was he smart and enthusiastic, but incredibly well organized - there's a lot of logistics involved ..."

Thanks for getting in touch. I was thinking of getting there at least the night before, and have already reserved a room at the hotel where the 1st meeting is. I still haven't booked flights - have you?
