Over the next 8 years they also found that Tour Operators had no easy way of adding, updating and tracking all of their tours in one place; traditional publishers were losing Operators (advertisers) to online advertising models; successful online travel communities were struggling to monetize their web traffic; Travel Agents were unable to quickly and easily find tours that matched their client's criteria; and DMOs were spending a considerable amount of their wafer thin budgets on web development instead of marketing. In June 2010 bugbitten.com spun-out the tour search division (founded 2005), to create TourRadar.com, the most comprehensive search and aggregation platform for Tour Operators, traditional travel Publishers, online travel communities, traditional Travel Agents and DMOs. TourRadar has proudly chosen a different path to our competitors who mostly force Operators to use an online booking engine commission model where Operators have to wait to be paid. Our business model successfully allows us to partner, but never compete, with all the important parties in the worldwide Tour Industry.
Shawn and Travis Pittman are brothers and TourRadar marks their second start-up together. They have spent more than a decade researching and working within the worldwide Tour and Travel Industry. They are passionate about providing affordable and sustainable solutions for all their business partners irrespective of their size. While some of our competitors like to throw around fanciful claims, Shawn and Travis prefer to measure themselves against the trust and respect earned from the partnerships they have created over the years in the Tour Industry.
