This was an amazing tour and well worth the money and extra day in Vienna. We were recommended the tour by family friends who took the tour in 2005. My only concern was the bike ride and it turned out to be much easier than i thought. The bike paths are easy to bike and the total miles were not much at all. The wines were and wineries were great, guide very fun and informative and our lunch stop was also nice.
Adam was awesome! The places we stopped at were great. The wine tasting was fun. Even with the rain we had a blast. Great fun with our boys, 12 and 14. The Wachau Valley and Duernstein were fun. I would even do this tour again!
A awesome day out with some lovely wine, heaps of food and great mates. Favourite bits were the Domaene Wachau cellar door and the little family tavern in Weissenkirchen and their generous hospitality! Adam was the definitely the host with the most and if it is raining on the day of your tour don't worry about it, put your 'wine coat' on and you'll have a ball like we did.
We were in Vienna for 5 days and this was by far the best thing we did while there. The tour was a brilliant experience, both fun and educational. The Wachau Valley is spectacular and even if you don't enjoy wine the scenery alone is worth going on the tour for. Adam is an excellent tour guide and has a good knowledge of wine, the local wine industry and the history of the area. He also cooks a good BBQ lunch which is worth paying the bit extra for. The ride itself is relatively flat and shouldn't pose any problems for most people. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough.
This tour is the best thing that i have ever done!!! The guide was brilliant and the region is amazing!!! YOU MUST DO THIS TOUR ... awesome value for money!!!
Whilst the weather wasn't our best friend the day we went (plenty of rain), it didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves in the beautiful wine region of Austria called the Wachau Valley!
We caught the train out to Krems and then visited a number of beautiful little towns including Durnstein & Weissenkirchen. The wineries we visited had an amazing selection of wines and to my surprise the quality was very very high... my favourite was the Gruener Veltliner!
Adam the tour guide's knowledge of both the region and the wines was very good... it was great to learn about some of the history this region has, as it goes back such a long way!
I highly recommend anyone who visits Vienna to do this tour, as it's a great day trip out of the city and into an area of the world you probably wouldn't have heard of, but will certainly surprise you when you get there! (and don't let the rain put you off either... you'll still have a great time!)
This tour was amazing! I enjoyed learning how to "properly" drink wine. I loved the bike tour. The area was extremely beautiful. I loved going to the wineries and especially the marmalada and mustard shop. Also the beach volleyball was fun - even though I made a fool of myself. I would definitely came bakc to this place - the tour was the most amazing introduction. One of my favourite places so far!XXXX
