It is essentially a day tip out to Tully River where you spend well over 3 hours going through level 4 rapids and waterfalls. You will get to see some truly breathtaking views of the mountains, mist, river, waterfalls etc. I wouldn't recommend bringing a camera or anything valuable on the trip as you won't have anywhere to put it while rafting, plus you will get soaking wet. Do dress appropriately as advised by the website.
All in all, it was truly one of the most exhilirating, action-packed and electrifying days of my life. The Rafter guides are an amazing bunch of people who are very diligent in ensuring your utmost safety throughout the entire experience. Enjoy all the many laughs you will have over all the jokes and stories you will share with this lot.
Rafting the Tully is a fun full on day! Its well planned out about and you are fully informed about safety and what to expected out of the day. Its a great way to meet new people, as you sometimes get a bit close and personal!
The only thing I would point out is unless you want to go home a little red and sore slip slop slap cause your thighs see a lot of the sun!
Its an experiences you will never forget!
Funnest thing I have done in Australia. The company is great and the guides are fabulous. The river is just nuts, not to mention beautiful. And the names of the rapids, ah the names . . .
This was the best rafting trip I have done so far. The guide was super friendly and the people on my raft were lots of fun. We also got to jump from a cliff twice! That was fun. I bought the pictures on a CD and they came out great. Just don't forget to bring sunscreen and reapply after lunch. I can't wait to try the North Johnstone River...that sounds like a lot of fun.
Everyone who can should go do this, it makes you feel like your really alive in this world and reminds you that your not invincible. Its really important to have everyone in the boat working together to ensure the safety of others. Take your mates with you and show them your style.
My favourite time was going flying out of the boat through some rapids, also the most scariest time for me but its just made me want to go back, get better and keep on doing it :) next stop The Johnstone!!
If you would love to have a superb life long unforgetable memory, then RnR white water rafting at cairns is the 5 star recommendation to go......the guides r 5 star, the rafting is 5 star, the experience is 5 star..it just goes on...haha....but honestly it was the best i ever had and i will never forget this experience
I came up to cairns for a week with a few mates and without doubt The tully river white water rafting trip was the highlight of my holiday. We were expecting to raft all day, not only we did that but we also went rock jumping and rapid swimming which got the adrenalin pumping. Definently would recommend this to anyone...Also my guide darren made the day even more enjoyable with his sense of humour and knowledge of the area, which was great. Cant wait to come up and do this again.. Thanks guys
I'm writing this recommendation 2 years after I actually went white water rafting having just rediscovered your website. I have repeatedly recommended this experience to anyone and everyone that cares to listen. My friend and I had such a fantastic time, and the all the staff were hilarious - especially about their made up 'Australiana' stories.
I've since been white water rafting in Switzerland and it wasn't a patch on this experience so it just goes to show that tully is the most amazing spot for white water rafting!
This was the unexpected highlight of our trip! Andy was our guide and we couldn't have asked for him to be more fun and professional. I would do this again if I was ever back in the area. Do this trip, you wont regret it!
