A different Thailand
Considering the time available (10 days) the trip was an excellent combination of immersion into the Thai culture and multiple activities (cycling, hiking, kayaking, etc.) in Northern Thailand. There was a good mix of must-see sites and off-the-beaten-path places. All local guides were both very knowledgeable and friendly. Groups sizes are usually small enough to tailor to everyone's needs. With BikeHike I know I won't have have to worry about a thing - thanks to a top notch organization - and more time to enjoy the trip. It was a fantastic experience!

A Great Experience
I've gone on two tours with BikeHike: Ecuador - Andes to Amazon and Costa Rica - Coast to Coast Adventure. At least one of these trips was listed by National Geographic as a Tour of a Lifetime, but for me I could award that status to both trips. I have toured with a few other companies and many times on my own. While BikeHike offers the things you'd expect from a tour company: not having to worry about accommodations, meals, transportation, and having a ballpark figure for how much a trip is going to cost; BikeHike additionally has great guides and staff that are very knowledgeable, professional, accommodating to both small and large unforeseen changes, friendly, and patient. On the tours I participated in, I was not only able to participate in multiple activities that were all pre-arranged and flowed continuously from one right into the next without the hassles of booking and arranging them on my own, but while doing the adventures I really got to see the country and learn about and interact with the people who live there in a much better and richer way than I believe I could have just following a tourist trail. There were always times to relax, shop, or just have some me-time as well. For the experience you come away with, I don't think you could get a better value.

A very enjoyable experience
I completed the Coast to Coast Costa Rican adventure with Bike Hike and was impressed by the following: 1. The fact that what was promised was actually delivered 2. The level of organisation from the guides without making you feel they were just churning out another tour. 3. The attention to detail, the company even changed the brakes around on my bike to match the UK modifications. 4. How mixed and compatable the group was 5. How easy it was to communicate with the company in advance of the trip, all questions were answered very quickly and with enough detail.

Nicaragua - The Essence of a Country
This trip was one that brought out the essence and the passion of Nicaragua. We experienced the true sights and sounds of this land from the majestic volcanoes, the expansive lakes, the bustling cities and towns, and the day to day life of Nicaraguans. The people were forever smiling; shouting out greetings and letting us see how they work and play. The trip was unique in that we tobogganed down a volcano; mountain biked along the shores of the world's largest freshwater island and we had numerous opportunities to experience the true culture of Nicaragua. Our guides had to continually adapt our itinerary, not surprising for an adventure trip. They were always looking out for us, be it our safety, ensuring that we were having fun, being challenged and that we were getting the maximum out of our experiences. I have taken 6 other trips with BikeHike and I keep on coming back as they always meet my wildest expectations.

I've gone with BikeHike Adventures for exciting and fun multisport vacations to Brazil, to Guatemala, and just now to Nicaragua. While I've previously been happy with several other leading companies, I'm now focused on BikeHike because of the extraordinary personalized communication and service provided before, during and after each trip. BikeHike is awesome!
I started traveling with BikeHike in 1994 and have since gone on several trips with them, including Thailand, Vietnam, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and British Columbia. They are the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and cultural experience. If you're interested in spending time outdoors, being active, and going to places where no "tourists" have gone before, then you can't go wrong with this company. Their guides and the organization are stellar - you are taken care of from the minute you get to your destination to the time you leave! Highly recommended travel company!
