Great surprises lie in wait here...
While the accommodations are super comfortable, the food and beverage (your'e on coffee plantation or "finca") are truly exceptional, it's the locale in the lush jungle in proximity to El TacanĂ¡, an extinct volcano, there are many options that don't necessarily make it into the brochure or Web site...you can arrange for mountain biking, hiking, educational tours for the amazing horticultural nursery, the coffee plantation tour - and, if you love coffee, you simply must do this, and walks around the property - which, has been replanted to replicate the forest as it was originally intended by nature. Also, there's a "secret" river/ravine behind the property for fantastic bridge jumping (if you're adventurous) and swimming. Butterflies and birds aplenty here. And, be sure to pick up extra jars of the Pepita Chiles, grown and jarred right there on site...no other chiles like them on earth.

Pros
True sustainable farming, Great Accommodations, Location location, Great Food & Drink, Exceptional horticulture, Experienced Guides

Romantic Bungalows in a lush rainforest!
"Bruno Nash the owner of this multi generation coffee plantation, is a passionate, caring and sensitive host who attends to every detail and need of his guests. I felt like a treasureed family member. He loves and respects his land and that was clear in his high standards and Argovia's holistic embodiment of the plants and animals that it is immersed in. I learned so much about the cycle of the coffee bean, it was fascinating. Bruno's staff has clearly inherited his warmth and generosity. My bungalow was unforgettable and overlooked the lush rainforest. I awoke to the sounds of birds, sat out on on the porch and absorbed nature in a way I had never experienced. Bravo Bruno. See you and your staff soon"

Pros
Once In A Lifetime Experience, Educational and unique, Small and intimate, Amazing location, Passionate owner, Delicious local cuisine

Incredible eco-resort
Argovia is an amazing place, simply put. It's a third generation coffee plantation run not only organically, but also integrating the needs of local people and focusing on the highest quality. The experience at Argovia is magical- you have a working plantation that also focuses on the experience of the guest. What will you do? Tours of the amazing place by very knowledgeable and passionate guides, see the jungle, relax by the pool, use the spa, go mountain biking, hiking, have cultural experiences that are not fake, etc. The food and drink are amazing- the chef is passionate about cooking with local products and many right off the plantation- they produce their own starfruit preserves, coffee, chili peppers, cardamom and more. My parents (late 60's / early 70's) stayed there and it changed their view of Mexico, Chiapas and traveling a long way to experience something. In fact, it was one of the non-family stories they included in their annual Christmas letter. Argovia has turned us into raving fans. Go for a week, fly into Tapachula and they'll come get you. Easy and awesome.

Pros
Great Accommodations, Once In A Lifetime Experience, Well Organized, Fun, Variety Of Activities, Great Food & Drink, Great Value, Experienced Guides

Cons
