The best holiday I have ever had. Not only is the location great, with it's breath-taking views and 5 minute walk to the town centre, the staff at Alpenrider made my holiday truly amazing. From hooking us up with ski lessons and hire, transportation, meals, drinks, tobogganing and epic bar/nights out, Shevy and the family are some of the nicest and coolest bunch of people I have ever met. Alpenrider is a MUST-go holiday! Massive big up to Shevy, Bianca, Nicci, Cesc, Mel, Matt, Nadz, Martin and Timehhh. Love you guys. Asha

Amazing place and brilliant people and even better opportunity to snowboard! I spent a week there including Christmas last year which was a very special time of the year. I decided to take a week off and go snowboarding but I was travelling solo so it took some time to find the right package, dates and flights. Shevvy was really helpful and answered all the questions i had prior to the trip and reassured me about all the details. I got to Salzburg airport where the minibus was already waiting, the drive back to Kirchberg was a bit long but it was fun all the way as the van was full of 'party people'. The house itself is kept clean and is at a very convenient location (stops for ski buses nearby and not far from the village centre either). Really comfy beds and brilliant power shower! Food was very nice and good portions as well. The most important was the friendliness and efficiency of the team working in the house and the amazing atmosphere at the bar on the ground floor every evening. Everyone there enjoyed themselves and whatever problems we have had was sorted out with a smile. From the set-up of snowboards and skis to any special dietary requests the quality of service was second to none. The Christmas arrangements was really special as well. The mountains were beautiful and there are so many different options for all levels including lessons which were really good value for money as well. Hey Shevy, Just a quick email to let u know i made it back to London ok mate although i almost lost my bag at the airport while i was buying a ticket for the train. Had a awesome time with yourself and the boys n girls at alpen rider mate, u forget where u are sometimes and thinking back on the time i had there i wish i was back there again! Maybe ill fit in another trip before the season is out, gotta find a job first! Once again cheers for the wicked time mate and also a big thanks to your crew, they do a fantastic job there and really make for a good experience. Hope ya's had a wild one for Oz day yesterday!! AWSOME!! i was travelling solo and decided to make a quick stop at alpenrider for some snowboarding.........i ended up staying for a month!! such is the awsomeness of this place!! Shevy and the family are amazing and take care of you for anything u need, the hostel is exceptionally clean and the staff are great! As a person travelling solo, i never felt alone and met so many wonderful friends, and the nights in the alpenrider bar are ones i will NEVER forget! i had an Alpenrider xmas, which was great with an organised lunch and a sleigh ride at night (not to mention the after-party at the chalet). i also was there for New Years which was AMAZING!!! our own private fireworks courtesy of Shevy, and another crazy night!! All up Alpenrider was my favourite place i went through out my entire European trip! i never wanted to leave!! i had so much fun, met so many wonderful people, and got to snowboard the amazing alps of Austria!! The only bummer is that il have to travel all the way from AUS to do it all again....but il definately be back one day!!

the first thing i remember thinking when i first met shevy was "this guy cant be this awesome all the time". but after one long weekend of partying i realised that this was actually the case. the tour was the best i have ever been on. it was well organised, the guests were well looked after, the chalet was super clean and the bar was pumping!!!! also shevy hooked us up with mountain biking and canyoning which was also a great experience shevy and wife b are the best hosts you could possibly imagine. they make u feel at home with their friendly, open hearted and warm manner which make u want to return time and time again. But apart from all the "niceties" is the bar of a night time. this place has seen the best parties i've had in my life. the beer flowing, jagers being handed out, the occasional glacier ice shot spectacle, all of which has resulted in me losing my voice and crawling into my bed..... or occasionly being carried by shevy(did i mention that im 110 kgs). When my weekend finally came to an end, i was sad for it to be over. hugs all round and even had a lump in my throat when i had to leave, and there was shevy and B waving goodbye to us strangers who were now friends. come on......have u ever met tour operators behaving on such a personal level. i would go as far as saying the best tour in the world.....no UNIVERSE. i recommend this tour to anyone lookin for a good time. and if i had to pick one negative..... then its the fact that i have to fly halfway round the world now to go and visit them for every Oktoberfest. An expensive pilgrimmage for me but well worth every cent.

Ventured to Kirchberg last year to witness the Hahnenkamm downhill in Kitzbuhel...something I had been dreaming about doing for a long, long time. Found out about Alpenrider on Hostelworld and chose it because of the STELLAR reviews. Seriously amazing. Got in touch with Shevy via email to book my stay and from the first email interaction I had the feeling Shev was an absolute LEG.! When we arrived at the train station, and Shev rolled up in a big van going far too fast, I knew we were in for a crazy weekend. From there it spiraled into a weekend unlike any other - full of new friends, fab parties, great meals and SUPERB hospitality. Shevy (Paul) and Bianca are the best hosts a gal could ask for. Seriously. Amazing. Shev also works at the Londoner, a famed bar in Kitzbuhel, where all the Canadians and US ski team guys hang out after the race. It is worth mentioning that the Hahnenkamm downhill draws about 60,000+ fans so as you can imagine the bars are PACKED with people and the atmosphere is best described as that of Oktoberfest on a ski hill. Shevy got us all into the Londoner and it was one of the best, craziest parties I've ever experienced - definitely a highlight of my 18-month stint in Europe, in which I worked for a group of hostels in Prague (Miss Sophie's, Mosaic House, Sir Toby's and Czech Inn). Really. No joke. I travelled around Europe - nearly every weekend while I was living in Prague, CZ - and I can safely say this trip and the Alpenrider/Shevy and staff's rockstar hospitality was a MAJOR highlight during my stay. As you can imagine, I stayed in many, many hostels...and Alpenrider was (hands down!) my fav for the experience. I will go back in the future. For sure. If I could have, I would have extended. I highly recommend that you all check out Alpenrider, and definitely go for the Hahnenkamm weekend...even if you know nothing about ski racing, it is an experience not to be missed. Thanks Shev - and the whole Alpenrider fam - for setting the bar for the hostelling industry.

Awesome week. Went on my own and met loads of great people. Stunning location, Awesome service, Great food. Definitely recommend and am already booked in for another trip. Highly recommend trying rodelling!!!!

I have lived and worked at a hostel in Europe for the past two years, and when people ask me what my favorite hostel is without hesitation I always reply "Alpenrider in Austria." And I'm not just saying that! Alpenrider is everything that you are looking for in a hostel: lets start with Shev, a freakin legend of a guy, super hospitable starting the moment you get there, and at night making everyone happy with his free jaegermeister shots! This guy has a presence you don't want to miss. His employees a stellar group of people and the staff is always up for a good time- you can rent all your equiptment there and they will even drive you to the mountain and ski/board with you all day. However, hands down the best part is the evening when everyone comes back from being out all day - "family dinner (and drinks)" - these people go above and beyond to get you a homecooked meal in your system! I'm a vego and Shev and kitchen staff always made sure I had food in front of me. Great place to meet people, party, good beer and comfy beds to boot! Can't recommend this place enough...stay for a week or longer, its a great deal for your money and honestly you won't want to leave!
