Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1 London to Paris, France (option also to join in Paris)
Across the English Channel to Paris where we embark on our city lights tour. (D)
Day 2 Paris
Free time before we sample our delicious Paris Gourmet Picnic beside the Eiffel Tower. An optional Seine River cruise or cabaret is a great finish to the day. (B,D)
Day 3 Paris to Swiss Alps, Switzerland
Gorgeous scenery presents itself today as we head to the Swiss Alps and the scenic village of Lauterbrunnen. (B,L,D)
Day 4 Swiss Alps
An optional excursion to the summit of the Jungfrau Mountain – the views are stunning! (B,L,D)
Day 5 Swiss Alps to Avignon, France
The medieval and walled city of Avignon is our next stop. Here our walking tour includes the Palace of the Popes. (B,L)
Day 6 Avignon to Barcelona, Spain
First stop a visit to the famous Roman aqueduct Pont du Gard before, arriving in Barcelona, Spain’s most cosmopolitan city. Our afternoon city tour shows us the sights. (B,D)
Day 7 Barcelona
Our centrally located accommodation is a great base to explore Barcelona. (B)
Day 8 Barcelona to the French Riviera, France
To the home of the rich and famous with a visit to a local perfumery en route. (B,D)
Day 9 French Riviera
Time for some celebrity spotting on the promenades. Tonight visit the casinos of Monaco. (B)
Day 10 French Riviera to Venice, Italy
Stop off in Verona to view Juliet’s balcony before arriving in the city of canals, Venice. (B,D)
Day 11 Venice
A vaporetto ride on the fascinating Grand Canal and a walking tour which unveils such treasures as St Mark’s Square and the Rialto Bridge are in store today (B,D)
Day 12 Venice to Florence
It’s time for Florence, home of Tuscan cuisine, amazing art treasures and great shopping. (B,L,D)
Day 13 Florence to Rome
To the Eternal City! We enjoy a walking tour upon arrival. (B)
Day 14 Rome
The day is ours to take in such attractions as the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Trevi Fountain as well as the Vatican City. (B,D)
Days 15-16 Rome to Athens, Greece
Our overnight ferry brings us to the Greek port of Patras and then to Athens where our orientation tour familiarises us with famous attractions both modern and ancient. (B,L) (D)
Days 17-19 Athens to Mykonos
Be prepared for 3 nights to explore one of the world’s most famous islands. Stunning scenery, great beaches, hundreds of tavernas and legendary nightlife. (B) (B,D) (B)
Day 20 Mykonos to Athens
Return ferry transfer to Athens. (B)
Day 21 Athens to Meteora
Heading north to Meteora, we visit the complex of cliff top monasteries dating back to the 14th century. (B,D)
Day 22 Meteora to Tirana, Albania.
To Albania, once cut off from the western world. Our luxurious hotel in Tirana is sure to impress. (B,L,D)
Days 23-24 Tirana to Dubrovnik, Croatia via Montenegro
On to Montenegro and the stunning coastal scenery surrounding the Bay of Kotor. Then across the border to Croatia andon to gorgeous Dubrovnik. (B,D) (B)
Day 25 Dubrovnik to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Via Mostar to Sarajevo a fascinating city heroically re-building itself from its recent tragic past. (B,D)
Day 26 Sarajevo to Belgrade, Serbia
Via Srebrenica, location of the Bosnian massacre of 1995. Then on to Belgrade the capital of Serbia. An orientation tour gets us acquainted and at night the many cool bars and clubs in the old town are worth a visit. (B)
Day 27 Belgrade to Budapest, Hungary
Budapest is located on the mighty Danube and it is here that we spend the next two nights. (B,D)
Day 28 Budapest
Our orientation tour gives an insight into the history and charm of the capital of Hungary. (B)
Day 29 Budapest to Vienna, Austria
On to stylish Vienna, home to opera, apple strudel and possibly Europe’s finest coffee. (B)
Day 30 Vienna to Prague, Czech Republic
Our next city Prague is one of our favourites. Our walking tour amongst the cobblestone streets is a great introduction to this charming city. (B,D)
Day 31 Prague
A free day to explore Prague and this evening maybe try one of the many delicious Czech restaurants. (B)
Day 32 Prague to Berlin, Germany
We stop at historic Dresden en route to Berlin, one of Europe’s most happening cities. (B,D)
Day 33 Berlin
Our city tour includes Checkpoint Charlie, the Berlin Wall and Brandenburg Gate. Then the city is ours to explore. The nightlife here is amazing. (B)
Day 34 Berlin to Amsterdam, Netherlands
To Amsterdam famous for its canals and liberal lifestyle! (B,L)
Day 35 Amsterdam
Our bicycle tour is a great way to discover Amsterdam followed by our walking tour. Tonight a farewell dinner and an optional canal cruise. (B,D)
Day 36 Amsterdam to London
Back to London via the chocolate and beer shops of Brugge. (B)
